Use a gentle, oil-free and alcohol-free cleanser – such as a foaming face cleanser, facial soap or baby shampoo – and work it gently into your lashes and over your eyelids.
Opt for a foaming face cleanser or gentle face soap. You can even use baby shampoo. Be careful with baby shampoo because it can be drying. You can dilute a foaming cleanser with a little water to make it gentler.
Instead, we recommend using micellar water just like you would a regular cleanser. The only difference is that it won't foam up. Simply dip your lash brush (or any clean, fluffy eye makeup brush) in a bit of the micellar water. Then, use the brush to gently brush the micellar water over your extensions.
Keep the treated area clean using a mild unscented glycerin or Dove unscented soap 2x day (morning & night). Gently splash the area with cool water and very gently cleanse with soap and rinse thoroughly. Use very mild/gentle pressure when cleansing the area.
Cleaning False Eyelashes With Dish Soap
Add a teaspoon of liquid dish soap and mix it in well. Step 2: Place your lashes in this soapy solution for about 15 seconds. Step 3: Once you take your lashes out, use a pair of tweezers to pull out any remaining glue from the lash strips gently.
Using a cream cleanser is the easiest way to clean your eyelash extensions. You can use an eye makeup remover to remove any remaining mascara or eyeliner.
My Lash Cleaning Steps
Wash face with gentle oil-free cleanser, like Cetaphil. I apply it to the eyelids as well. Use a dilute tea tree oil cleanser to clean at the base of your lashes.
We recommend you clean your extensions at least 2 – 3 times a week. However, if you want to keep your lashes super fresh and fluffy you should clean them every day especially if you wear eye makeup or have oily skin.
Lash extension glue LOVES to be kept clean in order to maintain it's strong bond to your natural lash. Dirty lashes causes your lash glue to become weak resulting in extensions falling off your natural lash instead of lasting the entire life of the natural lash cycle and falling out when the natural lash is shed.
Gently massage the cleanser into your skin using your fingertips in a circular motion or a soft makeup brush. Avoid scrubbing too hard, as this can cause premature lash extension loss. Rinse your face with lukewarm water. Do not splash water directly on your face with eyelash extensions.
Take a very, very small amount of a lash shampoo (we recommend LASHGAME's Eyelash Extension Foaming Cleanser and lather it up on your palm. Apply this to both eyes, one at a time, splashing it over them. Don't rub them like you're washing hair though; just gently splash it over your closed eyes.
Cleansing your lash extensions is an important part of any extension wearer's daily routine, keeping them healthy and firmly bonded to natural lashes. Foam lash cleansers are one of the best ways to do so!
Our lash foam cleanser removes makeup, oils, and protein build up from natural lashes and extensions—your lashes will thank you. Our cleanser is both oil-free and vegan. When used with our signature lash brush, you can achieve the same clean look to your lashes.
Foaming cleansers and face soaps for sensitive skin are the best bet when it comes to eyelash extensions as they are less likely to irritate your eyes than a cream cleanser or gel. You could even use oil-free baby shampoo. Water-based products wreak the least havoc on your beauties.
#2: Brush Your Eyelashes Daily
To take care of your eyelash extensions, brush your lashes daily to prevent crisscrossing. A simple 15–20 second sweep through your lashes in the morning will put stray lashes in their place.
Combing or brushing your eyelashes after cleaning will remove any additional residue AND help to keep your lashes fluffed and in place! Start your daily lash care routine (natural or extensions) with a gentle cleanser, like our Lash Detox (Regular or Tea Tree). Allow lashes to air dry and follow with a gentle combing.
Yes, micellar water is safe to clean eyelash extensions and will not damage them. While micellar water can weaken the lash glue when it's infused with oil, a water-based product is completely safe.
The number one rule with brushing natural lashes or lash extensions is BE GENTLE, especially with lash extensions. Place your lash comb on to the top of your lash line. Gently roll your comb down and up through your lashes.
