It is best to try to exercise your treated muscles for 1-2 hours after treatment (e.g. practice frowning, raising your eyebrows, and squinting). This helps to work XEOMIN® into your muscles. Stay in a vertical position for four hours following injection. DO NOT “rest your head” or lie down; sit upright.
Do NOT rub or massage the treated areas for 4 hours after your treatment. Do NOT practice Yoga or any type of strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment. Also, avoid facials or saunas for 24 hours after your treatment.
Your results will show up but may take a little time to show their full effect. You will begin to notice your wrinkles starting to fade within three to four days after treatment, and complete results will be visible by 30 days.
Can I sleep on my side after having Botox®? Yes, provided you wait at least four hours before lying down.
However, we usually suggest taking a few precautions to ensure the best results. For example, you should avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area for at least 24 hours. This means that while it's perfectly safe to wash your face after receiving BOTOX® Cosmetic injections, you should do so with a light hand.

Avoid alcohol, caffeine, Niacin supplement, high-sodium foods, high sugar foods, refined carbohydrates, spicy foods, and cigarettes 24-48 hours before and after your treatment. (All of these factors may increase risk of bruising and swelling).
The reason that keeping your head above your heart is so crucial right after undergoing your Botox treatment is that bending forward may increase blood circulation to your face and increase the risk that the injected material will move from the targeted areas before it is absorbed.
After treatment, avoiding a drink for a couple of days helps you heal optimally and get the most out of your injections. Rarely, Botox injections can cause drowsiness and / or dizziness, and that doesn't pair well with alcohol.
It's highly recommended that you move your face around a lot after getting Botox. This includes smiling, frowning, and raising your eyebrows. It's similar to facial exercises, minus the touching. Facial movement may look — and feel — silly, but it actually helps the Botox work better.
Do NOT massage or apply pressure on the treated area for 6-8hrs after treatment since Botox may migrate to areas of undesirable effectiveness. 2. Do NOT lie down for 6 hours after treatment. Also Do NOT lean forward, shower, cook over a hot stove.
Xeomin® may cause serious side effects, including allergic reactions. Symptoms of an allergic reaction to Xeomin® may include: itching, rash, redness, swelling, wheezing, asthma symptoms, or dizziness or feeling faint.
Therefore, in order to ensure you can begin enjoying the fantastic results as soon as possible, and with minimal bruising, we would most definitely advise that you do not consume alcohol in the lead up to your botox treatment – or at least 24 hours after having any treatment.
Don't lie down for at least 3 hours after receiving Botox. Don't go into any saunas, hot tubs, or tanning booths for at least 4 hours. This helps to prevent bruising, because heat can raise your blood pressure. Otherwise, you can resume your regular activities right after getting Botox.
So, How Long Should I Wait After Botox to Drink Alcohol? It's ideal to wait at least two days after your procedure to drink alcohol. You may want to wait a bit longer to shake the cocktail shaker, depending on how you and your skin are feeling.
Botox is an outpatient procedure, which means our clients go home or work following the session. After your Botox/Dysport procedure, the only restrictions is no lying down for 4 hours, and no exercise sauna, or steam room for 6 hour. Some clients even choose to go back to work shortly after the procedure.
Immediately after the procedure, it is recommended that you move your face around, such as repeatedly smiling, frowning or eyebrow lifting. Doing this allows the treatment to reach all of the necessary cells within the area.
The risk of bruising following Botox is increased when the body or face gets too hot. In addition to avoiding hot tubs, saunas, and other similar places, do not take a hot bath or shower for at least 24 hours after having this treatment.
You can wash your face following Botox, but you should: Keep pressure light to avoid swelling. Only use cool or lukewarm water to prevent shifting.
- Avoid the use of Aspirin, NSAIDS, Ginko Biloba, Garlic Supplements, Green Tea, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamins A and E, and essential fatty acids for up to 1 week pre and post injection as they will increase your risk of bruising.
It's important that once you undergo this treatment, you avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours. Additionally, you should limit your caffeine consumption and try to avoid your morning cup of coffee or drink it well before your scheduled injection appointment. Doing so will ensure that you get the best results.
Here is a short guide of the do's and don'ts after having Botox. Do not rub or massage the treated area and avoid make-up if possible. Do not have any beauty treatments on your face e.g. facials, facial massage for 2 weeks- this may cause the injected solution to spread to nearby muscles.
XEOMIN include: dry mouth, discomfort or pain at the injection site, tiredness, neck pain, muscle weakness, and eye problems, including double vision, blurred vision, drooping eyelids, swelling of your eyelids, and dry eyes. Reduced blinking can also occur.
