Squat or Stretch- Similar to sitting, these activities increase pressure on your buttock and can cause damage or shift the transferred fat.
Remember that if you squeeze the newly transferred fat by any means, it may kill or ruin the cells. That is why it is essential to make sure you do not wear restrictive or tight clothes during your recovery process.
Causes of Shrinkage
The shrinkage that occurs after a BBL is normal and has two causes. The first is the swelling of soft tissue, largely due to the accumulation of fluid. This condition is known medically as edema and occurs with any surgery. Much of this swelling will resolve within three to six weeks.
In fact, squats and other exercises could boost your BBL rather than harm it. No matter what, exercise is healthy, and your health is important. So, as soon as you are cleared to do so, start working out after your BBL.
Most patients are advised to wear their BBL compression garments (or fajas) for at least three months post-op. But if you want to wear your faja even longer? No problem—it's great for maintaining BBL results and defining your curves.
“Sitting is the one activity that clearly has an effect on BBL results, [because] transplanted fat cells are vulnerable to stress—which includes the physical pressure of the weight of the body when sitting,” explains Dr. Williams.
Dents can result from fat necrosis, uneven fat distribution, or improper post-op care. Non-surgical options like fillers or radiofrequency therapy may help with minor irregularities, while more significant dents might require surgical solutions such as fat grafting or revision BBL.
Resuming physical activity too quickly following your BBL can have adverse effects on the outcome of your surgery. Engaging in exercise before your body has had adequate time to heal may lead to a reduction in the volume and an alteration in the shape of your augmented buttocks.
The idea is to consume enough calories—and the right kinds of calories—to give the newly transferred fat cells the best chance of survival. It's not just about eating more; it's about eating smart. Consuming nutrient-dense foods can support cell health, which in turn helps to solidify the results of your BBL procedure.
Activity After BBL Surgery. Physical Activity: Normal daily activity can be resumed a few days after surgery. Avoid lifting more than 5lbs, bending, straining, or intense cardio activity for the first 2 weeks. Sitting is to be absolutely avoided for a full two weeks after your Brazilian Butt Lift.
Fluctuations in weight can affect your BBL results, as the transferred fat is subject to volume loss and gain once it establishes a blood supply. Maintain weight stability after BBL surgery to preserve your rejuvenated shape and desired volume.
Radiofrequency-Assisted Lipolysis: RF energy stimulates collagen production, helping to firm and tighten the skin. BodyTite: Combines liposuction with RF energy to remove fat while tightening the skin. Surgical Butt Lift: For more significant sagging, a surgical procedure may be necessary.
Sweat and Bacteria
Following surgery, you may be less active and spend more time sitting or lying down. This often leads to increased sweating in the treated area, which, combined with bacteria, can produce an unpleasant odor. Keeping the area clean and dry minimizes bacterial growth and associated smells.
Year Ten. Ten years after your BBL surgery, you can expect to have the same desired butt from your cosmetic procedure. However, you should stick to a healthy weight and avoid any drastic changes to ensure your butt stays plump and perky and your body remains proportional.
Ideally, I recommend being at or near your goal weight prior to having a procedure. Losing 20 pounds or more after surgery could change the overall aesthetic appearance of your results, although this will depend on the quality and stability of a person's tissues.
Weight Fluctuations. Significant weight fluctuations after a BBL can alter the results. Losing weight can cause the fat cells transferred to your buttocks to shrink, diminishing the volume gained from the procedure.
After a few weeks, the fat that survives develops its blood supply and integrates naturally into the fat there. Transferred fat should live indefinitely in the buttocks, and Brazilian butt lift results are usually permanent.
While Brazilian Butt Lift pills may seem like an appealing alternative to surgery, the evidence supporting their effectiveness is minimal. They are not a proven substitute for a surgical procedure like the Brazilian Butt Lift, which offers more predictable and lasting results.
However, if you have more body fat in the area, squats can reduce the fat and increase muscle, making the butt appear smaller as muscle tissue takes up less space than fat. You can also tailor the squats depending on your desired results.
BBL costs differ across states in the U.S. In California, the total cost ranges from $8,000 to $15,000. New York prices are similar, averaging between $9,000 and $16,000.
While there is not a maximum or minimum weight required for BBL surgery, your surgeon will likely evaluate your BMI, body fat percentage, and other factors to determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure. In some cases, exceptionally thin patients may not have an adequate amount of extra fat for BBL surgery.
If your BBL looks flat after the surgery, it's most likely because the surgeon used a traditional liposuction technique that rips the fat cells out of their location. If the fat cell membrane is nicked, it can go flat. To avoid issues, choose a board-certified plastic surgeon who has experience in this procedure.
As we age, the skin loses its natural elastin and collagen, causing excess, sagging skin. The buttocks are no exception, even if you have previously undergone a BBL. Aging and gravity can cause your butt to start sagging downwards, eventually losing its shape.
