The outcomes of Botox injections commonly begin to wear off after around three months, but the clinical trial found Daxxify lasted at least six months, and in some patients, up to nine months. Daxxify was initially ready for FDA approval in 2020.
The main difference between the DAXI and Botox (Dysport, and Xeomin) is how long it lasts. “Instead of having your treatment last about three to four months, we've seen that DAXI lasts a lot longer at about six to eight months,” Dr. Katz says.
On average, a Dysport injection will last for about three to four months, while a Botox treatment can last from four to six. While both of them use the same neurotoxin to prevent folds and lines from forming in the skin, they do have minor differences that can affect how long they last.
Does BOTOX or Jeuveau last longer? Both BOTOX and Jeuveau provide effects that last for an average of 3 – 4 months. However, some patients report that Jeuveau tends to last a little longer for them – up to 5 or 6 months – than BOTOX does.
Daxxify, made by Revance Therapeutics Inc. in Nashville, Tenn., is injected into the face along worry lines. Is It Safe to Use BOTOX in the Long Term? BOTOX is an FDA-approved, low-risk treatment with a great safety record. If you continue to work with an experienced, credentialed injector, it is unlikely you will experience any negative effects of long-term BOTOX use.

For starters, botulinum toxin type A is the primary active ingredient in each product. And, while BoNT is considered one of the strongest and most lethal toxins discovered to date, small doses of the neuromodulator have the ability to temporarily paralyze muscles for cosmetic effect.
The price of Jeuveau® is most easily understood by the number of units needed for the desired cosmetic result. In the U.S., Jeuveau® units typically cost $8 to $16 each. This is less expensive than Botox®, which ranges $10 to $20 per unit.
Glabellar lines usually require 15–25 units, whereas the forehead usually requires 10–25 units, Weiss said. Crow's feet or the periorbital area can require 20–24 units, said Weiss.
The price per unit is significantly cheaper than Botox. Since the number of units will be higher than Botox, the price per treatment comes up to about the same. Dysport also differs in terms of its molecular behavior and diffusion.
Botox vs.
While cheaper than Botox, it typically it takes twice as many units of Dysport to achieve the same result. According to self-reported reviews on Real Self, that average cost of Dysport is $450 dollars per treatment nationally. Botox injections average at a slightly higher rate nationally at $550 each session.
There's also some evidence that switching between neuromodulators can help extend results, kind of like developing a “tolerance” for one or the other. So, if you've been all about Botox for years, you might also find that changing to Dysport helps you enjoy longer-lasting results.

There's a common misconception that Botox makes you look older when it wears off. On the contrary, regular Botox treatments make you look younger even after the neurotoxin wears off.
In general, Botox lasts 3-4 months. There will certainly be patients in which in lasts longer, in that 4-6 month range, or shorter, in that 2-month range. It is also common for first-timers to notice that it may not last as long initially but may last longer after the second treatment.
Effectiveness. Currently, there aren't any studies that directly compare Botox Cosmetic to Jeuveau. So, it's difficult to say if one works better than the other. But both injections seem to be effective in smoothing wrinkles compared to placebo, an injection with no medication in it.
Dysport diffuses more than BOTOX, Jeuveau, and Xeomin due to the structure of its protein. You can have fewer injections over a larger treatment area like the forehead and around the mouth.
Jeuveau also uses a slightly different form of botulinum toxin than BOTOX®: BOTOX® contains onabotulinumtoxinA and Jeuveau contains prabotulinumtoxinA. According to clinical trials, both compounds share a similar safety profile and are equally effective for treating dynamic wrinkles.
