A Finger-to-finger test is performed to assess cerebellar function. A patient reaches out and touches the examiner's index finger with their index finger and then touches their nose with the same finger. The inability to complete the test is called dysmetria.

In the FNT, patients are asked to alternately touch their own nose and the evaluator's stationary or moving finger while lying supine, or while sitting or standing.
Some go with the "fingertip rule" (shorts and skirts must extend beyond the fingertips), while others require only an "appropriate length."
It's a pretty simple concept: Touch your index finger to the tip of your nose and rest your hand against your chin. If your lips don't touch your finger, congrats—you're pretty! If they do, well, hopefully you at least have a good sense of humor.
Method of Use. The patient is asked to bend forward and attempt to reach for the floor with their fingertips. Ask the client whether pain, stiffness or both limit the movement(Fingertips to floor (FTF) test). If the FTF test is limited by pain, the location and pain score out of 10 should be documented.
The Essence of the 2 Finger Test
