Most dermatologists agree that any kind of moisturizer will suffice. Since the neck area lacks sebaceous glands, even the rich body moisturizers work fine and won't break out your neck. That said, neck-specific creams or face creams that will stimulate elastin and collagen are “better,” says Dr. Engelman.
Regular moisturizing is the first step towards hydrated neck skin. Use a moisturizer that is rich in hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid and ceramides.
If your skin feels dry and you don't have other symptoms like a rash or discoloration, you can apply a fragrance-free moisturizer. Be sure to choose a moisturizer that's healthy for your skin. Try to avoid scratching your skin.
There are a number of different ways you can tighten your neck skin. Some methods, such as face yoga and drinking plenty of water, can be done at home for little to no cost. However, more invasive methods, such as Botox injections and laser treatments, may be necessary if your skin is extremely loose.
Retinol topical creams
Dr. Kassouf recommends retinol topical creams to help reduce that crepey look.
Egg Whites. Egg whites are known for their tightening properties. They contain proteins that help firm the skin temporarily. Applying egg white masks can create a lifting effect, making the skin appear tighter and smoother.
Does Vaseline help with neck lines? Vaseline can make the skin smooth and prevent wrinkles from settling in. But it is still not the permanent solution for neck lines.
“Neck creams can help with firmness and hydration but for a lifting effect this can ultimately only be done with treatments, tailored machines, and lasers.” Facialist Vaishaly Patel concurs. “There's only so much a neck cream can do,” she says wryly.
Apply Vaseline Petroleum Jelly along your hairline, over your ears and neck, and you won't have any problems with stubborn dye stains where you don't want them!
Time of Day
For example, if you use a retinol-based neck cream during the day, the sun can cause damage and lead to scarring. You can wear it when the sun is shining but use sunscreen. Check your ingredients and do your research to know what time of day is best. But, a good rule of thumb is to use neck cream at night.
According to Zeichner, loss of hydration and the resulting inflammation worsens crepey skin. He recommends looking for purified petrolatum in your moisturizer, as in Vaseline's popular lotion. It protects the skin's barrier, prevents water loss, hydrates and plumps thin skin.
As a surgical procedure, a neck lift is the most impactful and permanent solution for addressing a crepey neck. Deep plane neck lifts in particular can recontour the neck and restore a youthful appearance.
Whip up a cucumber cooler by adding sliced cucumbers, fresh mint, lemon, or lime to your next glass of water. Cucumber will keep you hydrated, tighten your skin, and flush out built-up toxins. It will also help you release excess water weight to help you look slimmer and leaner.
As for the claim that a cream or lotion can lift sagging skin, dermatologists say that's not possible. A cream or lotion cannot penetrate the skin deeply enough to do this. Still, you may see a small change if a product contains a retinoid, such as retinol, which can help your body make more collagen.
What vitamin deficiency causes sagging skin? A deficiency in Vitamin C can accelerate skin ageing, resulting in premature skin sagging and wrinkling. This is because Vitamin C enhances the production of the protein collagen, which is vital to providing the firmness and vibrancy that counteracts skin sagging.
