In the movie Joker, the Joker has medium length hair that sits just above his shoulders. If you have hair longer than that, cut it short so that it just hits the top of your shoulders. If you don't want to cut your hair, you don't have to. However, it will look the most authentic if your hair is the right length.
We were privileged to see an advance screening of the film, and we're here to report that there is a pivotal scene in the film in which the Joker dyes his brown hair green... without bleaching it first.
Everything has a motivation, and it all comes out organically,” he says. For Joker's iconic green hair, it was production designer Mark Friedberg who suggested what became the final look.

The Batman (2004–2008)
Going off on a bit of a wild tangent, the Joker voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson has big green dreadlocks, bright red demon eyes and always walks barefoot.
Joker's long, dreadlocked hairstyle was inspired by the Jester's Hat, which is often associated with The Joker or The Fool. This led fans to believe Joker was African-American, and confused them when Joker was shown to be Caucasian in a flash-back.
What do you do for the Joker? He has bipolar disorder type 1, most recent episode manic, severe, with psychotic features, and he also has Pseudobulbar affect.
Fleck (aka the Joker) did indeed suffer from PBA. That said, however, Hollywood definitely embellished his presentation. For example, his hyperbolic ballet dance after a trauma would not seem to be explained solely or at all by PBA.
In the end Arthur's final outfit when he becomes Joker achieves balance: a red suit with yellow vest underneath - he has accepted his descent, he has embraced the strength that comes from being different and has found healing through that acceptance.
In the 2016 DC film, Leto's character has many tattoos, including the word “damaged” on his forehead. As it turns out, the ink is a nod to a previous encounter between the Joker and Batman, during which Batman knocks out the Harlequin of Hate's teeth in an attempt to get revenge for Robin's killing.
Fleck has PBA, a condition with uncontrollable laughing and crying outbursts. His sickly thin body is the result of the medication he takes.
This is a technique wherein the muscles, which move the corner of the mouth downwards, are cut. This causes over-activity in the muscles that take the angle of the mouth up. Transection of the muscles will cause an unnatural permanently-smiling look.
According to the Joker, his wife – who used to tell him he needed to “smile more” – got into trouble with gambling sharks who “carved her face”. As they didn't have money for surgery and he wanted to “see her smile again” and let her know he didn't care about the scars, he disfigured his own mouth in solidarity.
Personality Disorder, specifically, Histrionic Personality Disorder plays a key part in Harley Quinn's life. People with Histrionic Personality Disorder are “pervasive and excessive emotionally and display attention-seeking behavior” (Bornstein 1998).
Penny is not mentally well, as she possibly has schizophrenic and narcissistic tendencies hinted in the film. She is shown to be neglectful as she didn't save Arthur as a child from his abuse. It is currently unknown why she let this happen, but it's presumed she was abused by him as well, causing her mental problems.
He said the Joker doesn't fall into the criteria for diagnoses like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. He is more likely to be a psychopath, but even that is reductive.
