The Brow Flip service will realign the natural brow hairs into the desired shape and then perm them into place. This treatment tames unruly, messy brows, giving the illusion of increased volume and fullness. The service takes about 45 minutes in total.
What is a Brow Flip? You may have seen this treatment all over social media lately as it gains popularity and attention. Brow lamination/ lift/ gelling/ perming/ relaxing, etc… However you name it, this eyebrow straightening hair treatment is long wearing and lasts for about 4-6 weeks.
Just as perming the hair on your head can lead to dryness and damage, brow lamination could potentially damage your eyebrows in the same way. Your chances are greater if you repeat the process too often, or sooner than 6 weeks. Another more serious risk is eye damage.
Microblading is a more invasive and permanent eyebrow transformation that one might invest in for a brow look that will last for about 1-2 years. Brow lamination is more of a quick and temporary (6-8 weeks) perming treatment that might be a more affordable solution to achieve the brow look you're going for.
Brow lamination is almost like a perm for your eyebrows; similar to the well-known lash lift treatment. They're both ways of enhancing what you already have by manipulating the hairs with chemicals. The treatment is often paired with a brow tint for a bolder enhanced look.
Androgen hormones make your hair production more masculine, hence why it turns your brows wiry. Usually, when you think of wiry brows, you think of middle-aged or older men such as your dad or grandpa. Wiry brows could be in your genetics, too, being passed down from either of your parents.
Microblading is a form of a cosmetic semi-permanent makeup performed using, a manual (not a machine) disposable handheld tool, composed with very fine needles resembling the shape of a blade (we call it a microblade), to hand draw each individual hair and simultaneously implant the pigment into the skin.
Micropigmentation delivers pigment deeper into the skin compared to microblading. The results of micropigmentation last twice as long as microblading. So, while it is still a semi-permanent technique, the results last much longer.
Embrace Brow Henna
“The dye picks up all of the tiny, little blonde fuzzy hairs for ample brow fluff and slightly tints the skin for a fuller, more defined look.” Henna is a low commitment option, as it lasts between four and six weeks on the brow hairs themselves and 10-14 days on the skin.
It's perfect and unmatched finish is the most all-natural-looking way of correcting sparse or uneven eyebrows. However, one concern is that it requires cutting into the skin with a blade, and a single session can have more than a hundred small cuts.
"This procedure is best for anyone who wants to make a thin brow appear full within 30 minutes as-well-as a more full brow to appear fuller and more fluffy," says Melanie Marris, eyebrow stylist and founder of Brow Code, a brand of brow products for professionals.
What is brow lamination? 'Brow lamination involves straightening and lifting the hairs using a chemical solution, which allows the hairs to have more flexibility to move them into your desired shape, therefore covering any gaps or stray areas,' my therapist Thea explains.
Lash perm is too strong for use on the brow hair and can cause over processing of the eyebrow. Lash Perm has not been safely tested on use on skin as of yet and may cause a chain of reactions once used on Brow Hair.
Although the procedure can take upward of 2 hours, most people report only feeling minor pressure or discomfort and less pain than a typical tattoo due to the use of a numbing cream. Of course, this will depend on your own personal tolerance to pain. Some level of pain or discomfort should be expected.
For the first 24 hours after the treatment brows should be treated with care. We recommend not touching the hairs to ensure they stay in the correct direction. For the first 24 hours after the treatment avoid getting your brows wet, specifically no showers, hot baths, swimming and saunas.
Brow tinting is a no-needle, no-blade way to fill in your brows. To use it, you “paint” some of the tint on your brow, wait two hours and then peel off the paint. What's left is a stain of color that lasts a little longer than a gel or a powder (3 days to a week), and is WAY more affordable than microblading eyebrows.
Also known as nano needling or micropigmentation, nano needle brows are created with one single needle and a permanent makeup device. Similar to a conventional tattoo machine (although nowhere near as intense or painful!), the device is then used to provide controlled movement as it dispenses pigment into the skin.
Microblading could cause: Infection. If your technician uses dirty water or equipment, they can spread bacteria like staphylococcus (staph). They could also spread viruses like HIV, hepatitis, or herpes.
Who Shouldn't Get Microblading. Individuals prone to keloids, super thin skin, Rosacea or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Unfortunately, since Microblading punctures the skin with tiny needles, we cannot work with clients with these conditions. Individuals with visible redness on the face.
Ombré shading is a semi-permanent eyebrow styling technique that uses a small machine to place extremely thin dots of pigment into the skin, creating a soft-shaded brow pencil look. For most beauty lovers, leaning into your mirror to precisely fill in your eyebrows is the most stressful part of your routine.
The nano machine hair strokes procedure is a minimally invasive procedure whereby the pigment is implanted into the skin using a cosmetic tattooing machine with a single needle. This new procedure has taken the beauty world by storm.
Microblading ranges in cost from around 350 dollars to as high as 800 dollars. The average microblading cost is around $400. If you don't know what microblading is, it's the practice of placing pigment with tiny strokes of a “microblade” in a semi-permanent fashion over your existing eyebrows.
Appearance Is Faded but Still Looks Great
The decrease in thickness of your eyebrows will be noticeable ONLY if you'll compare your photos today vs. when your microbladed eyebrows are only weeks or months old. 3 years after microblading, they'll look more natural with time until they fade.
Tattooing simply doesn't lend itself to the same precise technique. Tattooed brows tend to have more of a solid look, and appear as brow filler more so than your natural brow. Microblading creates a more natural end result compared to eyebrow tattooing, which results in brows that appear “drawn on” and flat.
