Stage 3 (Days 6-10): The scabbing phase. Your brows may start to itch and the pigment may seem like it's flaking off. Resist the urge to scratch or pick at the brows as it can disrupt the healing process.
Day 5-7 (Flaking and Itching):
- Flaking and peeling of the top layer of skin may continue, and your eyebrows might appear patchy.
Days 3-7 are probably the worst ones because the brows have scabs. A way to minimize the amount of scabbing you get is to take a dry tissue and press it into the brows every couple of minutes the first hour after they've been done.
Thank you for your inquiry! We recommend that you do not fully submerse your eyebrows in water for 12 days after microblading. We also do not recommend using soap on the microbladed eyebrows for 12 days as well. Microbladed eyebrows should be gently cleansed using a damp cotton ball in a circular motion.
No, you must avoid exercising or heavy sweating for 7 days after the procedure.
Once the healing of the skin starts taking place, it will look like dandruff flakes or dry skin. However, this is just superficial color and dry skin being naturally removed from your eyebrows. The final look of your eyebrows will be apparent approximately 30 days after your procedure.
Since microblading is done by making small incisions on your eyebrow skin, the area needs to be protected from moisture and bacteria. Sweat can expose this skin region to both of these. Hence sweating due to exercise or workout can cause infection in the treated area.
Water exposure, especially during the critical healing phase, can affect the pigmentation and final outcome of your brows. While brief or accidental contact with water may not cause significant harm, prolonged exposure can lead to fading, uneven results, and the need for additional touch-ups.
Around days eight or nine of the healing process, your brows may take on a spooky appearance, appearing faded, gray, or even patchy. This is known as the microblading ghosting phase. The fading is a regular and temporary part of the healing process. Your bold, beautiful brows will make their triumphant return.
Also, some people will experience only minor peeling. They may be worried that something is odd, but that is completely normal, even if there's no peeling at all. It's rare, but those of you who got lucky to experience barely any peeling, can expect great pigment retention.
The hair strokes will fade. And once that happens, it's difficult to put them back in the same place. In the case of having oily skin, this effect will be faster and the pigment in the lines will start to blur. The results are blurry hair strokes- nothing like they looked like when you got them done for the first time.
Day 3 to 7
Day 4 The skin begins to flake, peeling from the outside edges first. Please do not pick at the scabs. Day 5 Color finishes flaking off and appears softer and grayer for a few days until color clarifies. Day 7 The color has lightened from its initial overly-dark appearance.
Initially stronger in color, your new Microblade Eyebrows will soften to a natural looking, beautiful color in 10-14 days.
First, consult your artist for potential corrections or touch-ups. If you're still dissatisfied, seek a second opinion or consider removal options like saline or laser treatments. Common issues include dissatisfaction with the shape, asymmetry, unwanted colour, or strokes blurring.
You may use your eyebrow pencil to fill in your brows after the 7 day healing period, if desired. As a result, be sure to schedule your second/"touch-up" application 8-12 weeks following your initial procedure. After your second color application, you will no longer need to use your eyebrow pencil.
The microblading process creates superficial cuts in the skin which, without appropriate care, can increase the risk of infection. This can lead to longer healing times and potential scarring. In the days following the procedure, it's common for the treated area to form scabs.
Proper aftercare is essential for successful microblading results. Most professionals advise avoiding washing your face for 2-10 days post-treatment, with care needed when cleaning around the brows. On Day 1, blot lymph fluid gently to prevent crusting, and use mild antibacterial soap from Day 2-10 for cleaning.
Hair Stroke
The microblading artist uses a microblading pen to etch fine, hair-like lines into the skin, following the direction and pattern of the client's natural eyebrows. This technique creates a more defined and filled-in look compared to naturally sparse brows.
Sweat. For the same reason that water should be avoided during the healing/scabbing process after microblading, sweat should also be avoided. Sweat comes from the inside of the skin and can push the pigment out and cause the microblading strokes not to retain.
It is generally recommended to avoid sleeping on your side for at least the first 10 to 14 days post-procedure. This timeframe allows your brows to go through the initial critical healing phase without disturbance.
While individual healing rates can vary, this period allows for a significant portion of the healing process to take place. Some clients, based on the progress of their healing, might be OK to engage in light workouts within 5-7 days.
Eyebrow tinting should not be undertaken for 2 weeks after your procedure.
Do not use Vaseline as a moisturiser—only as a water barrier. If your eyebrows do get wet, gently pat them dry with a clean tissue. Keep your hair away from your eyebrows to avoid introducing bacteria.
