Master stylists are typically the highest-ranking stylists in the salon. They usually help train and mentor junior stylists, helping them move up the ranks to senior stylists.
Similar to the levels of hair stylists, our specialist levels are based on experience & expertise. While all of our level 1 specialists meet our service standards, our level 2 specialists have gone through additional training for brow design.
Your level simply refers to how light or dark your hair color is—the lower the number, the darker the hair. Our permanent hair colors range from level 2–10, with 2 being our darkest black and 10 being our lightest “natural” blonde.
The Course content provides a broad, experiential introduction to hairdressing, with experience of general salon duties to support stylists and assisting with customer care. Candidates will learn about the different roles and responsibilities in hairdressing, and begin to develop vocational skills and knowledge.
LEVEL 5- EXECUTIVE DESIGNER
They are phenomenal communicators who are going to deliver advanced hair cutting and coloring techniques that are custom to each guest. They're exceptional professionals who inspire their teammates, and empower their guests to embrace their authenticity!
Level 3 is ideal if you've worked in hairdressing or barbering for some time and want to develop your skills in a specialised area. You might want a broad qualification or to learn a particular technique. To achieve one of the longer diplomas or the certificate, you complete a number of core and optional units.
COURSE OVERVIEW:
Creatively cut hair using a combination of techniques. Creatively colour and lighten hair. Provide client consultation services. Provide colour correction services.
Upon completion of your Level 2 Technical Certificate, you can either seek employment or progress onto a Level 3 Technical Diploma specialising in either Hairdressing or Barbering. Level 3 focuses on the technical skills and advanced knowledge required for more senior hairdressing roles.
Hairdressing Diploma Level 2 may include the following units: Maintain Health and Safety in the Salon. Working in Hairdressing. Client Consultation for Hairdressing Services.
Level 3; A Hair and Beauty Employee Level 3 will cover employees performing the following duties, or with the following qualifications: a beautician who holds a Certificate III in Beauty Services (or equivalent); a hairdresser who holds a Certificate III in Hairdressing (or equivalent).

The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing provides the necessary skills and knowledge that prove occupational competence as a junior stylist. This qualification allows candidates to learn, develop and practice the skills required to provide hairdressing services for all hair types.
The level 1 course in Hair and Beauty is a qualification designed to introduce you to a broad range of practical skills from across the hair and beauty industry to prepare you for employment.
The Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy is an intermediate course designed to build on your knowledge gained from Level 2 and help you increase your employment prospects. Core modules include body massage, facial and body electrotherapy, microdermabrasion and Indian head massage.
This is one year vocationally related qualification is ideal if you are interested in a career in the beauty industry allowing you to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression.
The ultimate goal for a hairstylist is to eventually become a 6 figure stylist. Meaning you would bring in 100k + in SERVICE SALES every year behind the chair.
For applicants with A Levels, most universities will require you to have studied an Art and Design related course as well as subjects in humanities, English and Maths.
Entry requirements
You'll usually need: some GCSEs, usually including English and maths, or equivalent, for an intermediate apprenticeship. 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent, including English and maths, for an advanced apprenticeship.
Master Stylist (Levels 4-6) Master Stylists, are just that: True masters of their craft. They are established, respected, and carry a reputation for excellence that has earned them this title.
They can be studied full-time (which usually takes around 2 years to complete), or combined with work placements and completed in 3-4 years.
