A new eyeliner trend on TikTok says there are. By drawing four white dots around your eyes, you can apparently hypnotize people into falling in love with you. The bold claims started from TikTok creator Michelle Diaz, who shares dating tips on her account.
Also known as the “four dots eye trick” or “four dots eye thing,” the trend involves applying four dots of white eyeliner on the inner and outer corners of your eyes, as well as above and below the center of your eye, to create a hypnotic love spell of the sorts.
All you need to do is use your preferred white eyeliner (liquid is recommended, but some have tried with a pencil) and add four white dots around your eye. First, add one white dot under your eye in the center of your lower eyelid. Next, add one aligned right above your upper eyelid between your eyebrows.
Apply your makeup like you usually would. Then, take a white liquid liner, look straight ahead in the mirror, and gently dab on the following dots around each eye: one at the inner corner, one at the outer corner, one somewhere between your eyelid and eyebrow, and one below your lower lash line, in the under-eye area.
There could be a couple of reasons, either the eyeliner product you are using is too oily, or the skin itself is oily. I suggest first and easiest, applying a nice coat of powder on the entire lid prior to the applicaiton.
Primer is your friend
Then, all three makeup artists agree that setting your under eye area with a bit of setting powder will prevent oils from running onto the area.
DON'T line your whole eye.
Drawing your eyeliner from outside corner all of the way to the inside corner of your eye, on top and bottom, is just a whole lotta eyeliner. It's harsh and unflattering, and makes your eyes appear smaller. It also makes it look like you wear a studded black belt over your Billabong t-shirt.

As for placement, use your pupils for alignment. Then, create dots either right below your lower lash lines, like Roberts's look, or below the folds and fine lines of your undereye area. Agazzi likes to wear them almost on top of her cheeks, so don't afraid to stray from your waterlines.
Cleopatra used the bright green malachite paste of the ancient Egyptians on her lower eyelids.
Use Three Kinds of Eyeliner
So, Marilyn used three different colors of eyeliner to get it just right. For the upper lid and wing, she used black liner. For the lower lash line, she used brown, and in the water line, she used white to make the eyes look even bigger.
Apply liquid concealer to an angled brush and draw two angled lines from your outer corners, connecting them to create your desired wing shape. "Basically, you're outlining an eyeliner wing without filling it in,” explains Nicole. For the most precise lines, she suggests using makeup tape.
Keep your eyes open. "When the eye is closed, you can't see where the crease at the corner of the eye falls," says Stewart. Assuming your eyes aren't lopsided, this will help keep your liner even on both sides.
Line the eye just above the lash line on the top lid and just below on the bottom lashes. The key is connecting the liner at the outer corner. A pencil or liquid eyeliner works well as it won't shift from the outer corner where it can get damp from your eyes natural moisture.
Start at the middle of your top lash line, and apply pencil eyeliner outward so that you're only lining the outer half of your eyes, says Buckle. As for the bottom, apply eyeliner to the last quarter of your eye. Another helpful trick: Extend your eyebrows a little at the ends with a brow powder.
Plenty of shows set the tone for fashion trends, but few have become so celebrated for its makeup that it inspires a whole new genre—like Euphoria makeup. That's exactly what the hit HBO show did with its inventive use of glitter and artful takes on eyeliner.
You can also use white for more whimsical eyeliner looks—the white dot trend was even one of Google's top trending searches for 2022. White liner is especially good for making the eyes pop. "It instantly brightens the eyes and makes your eyeballs look whiter," the pro adds.
Brighten it Up: The white eyeliner pencil works as a great highlighter for the inner corner of the eyes. Apply it to the inner corner of your eyes and smudge it with the help of your ring finger. It would instantly brighten your eyes up and give you a more awake look.
As it turns out, it's probably not the safest idea. Applying eyeliner on the waterline increases your risk of contaminating your eye. Any bacteria or contaminants on the tip of your eyeliner have the potential to travel into your eye and cause discomfort, irritation or redness to those with sensitive or dry eyes.
A little white or nude eyeliner on your bottom lid can work wonders to make you look more awake and refreshed. Gently pull on your under-eye and trace the line between the lower lashes and the inside rim.
A statement color, glowing skin, and graphic eyeliner are not going out of style anytime soon. And don't forget to add on your face gems–they're a must-have (trust us).
Circles and bags under the eyes are tricky, confirms Laurel Geraghty, MD, a dermatologist in Medford, Oregon. “Concealer can make them look more pronounced,” she notes, “especially if it doesn't sit flawlessly on the skin, it isn't moisturizing enough, or if it dries you out.”
Concealers can separate under the eyes and there are many reasons why this can happen. It's either your skin is too dry, too oily or you're choosing the bad concealer formula. In some cases, keeping your concealer past its expiration date might cause it to break up and perform badly on the skin.
