“Typically, the three main treatment areas for Botox are the Glabella, the forehead and Crow's feet and they all have their own specific Botox injection patterns. “The Glabella (more commonly known as the frown line) contains a group of muscles which contract when a person furrows their brow.
You can get multiple Botox injections during your visit. So, if you were looking to get all three areas done you would need a total of 64 units. This may be less depending on the severity of the area of treatment.
Botox has the advantage of being around longer, making it a trusted brand. This means that most patients interested in injectables would opt for Botox. However, Xeomin is just as effective at reducing wrinkles in areas like eyebrows, the forehead, and around the eyes.
Botox comes in dosages between 50 and 100 units per vial. Some practitioners say they inject an average of 10 to 30 units into the forehead. Allergan, the manufacturer of Botox Cosmetic, suggests a dosage of 4 units each in five sites on the forehead, totaling 20 units.
On the forehead, there are two different areas. Right above the eyebrows and in between the eyes is called the frown lines. According to the recommendations, this requires 20 units. And finally, for the lines further up the forehead, which we just refer to as forehead lines, it takes 20 units of Botox.

Botox Myth 1: You must have 20 units in your frown. Where does this come from? Actually, there's good research behind the number twenty. Studies show that 20 units in the frown last a lot better than 10 units and almost as well as 30 units.
Doctors will usually use it on the frown lines between the eyebrows, called glabellar lines, as well as on lines in the forehead, and crow's feet at the sides of the eyes.
Again, this will depend on your circumstances, but generally speaking 60 units is a pretty average amount to receive, especially if you are just starting out. Let's understand this with an example. For the frown lines, 20 – 30 units of Botox is considered enough to relax the muscles.
Forehead Botox treatment is very similar to other parts of the face treated with Botox. It can last up to six months. Remember that Botox paralyzes the muscle underneath the skin and restricts its movement; as movement returns to the muscle you will begin to see lines and wrinkles form yet again.
