Unilever issued a recall for certain lot codes of its Dove, Nexxus,
The latest recall includes dry shampoo aerosol products made before October 2021 from brands Dove, Nexxus, Suave, TIGI (Rockaholic and Bed Head), and TRESemmé, the company said in a notice published last week by the FDA. (See here for a complete list of recalled products and UPC codes.)
Details: The voluntary recall is for select lot codes of dry shampoo aerosol products produced before October 2021 from Dove, Nexxus, Suave, TIGI (Rockaholic and Bed Head) and TRESemmé.
Specific UPC and sizes of Suave 24-Hour Protection Fresh Antiperspirant and Suave 24-Hour Protection Aerosol Antiperspirant Powder were recalled on March 30, 2022. The recall affects all of the products above with expiration dates through September 2023. They were sold at retail stores nationwide and online.
Dove's deodorants and antiperspirants are not safe or non toxic. Moreover, some of their products contain aluminum which is a big no-no. And in fact, all of them contain fragrances (even the ones labelled as “fragrance free”). Fragrances often contain ingredients that are hormone disruptors.
We've always used types of parabens that have been proven safe — Dove products take care of your skin and don't use harmful skincare ingredients.

The lawsuit was filed after results of independent testing by Consumer Reports Magazine were released on December 15, which found 23 different brands of dark chocolate contain toxic levels of lead or cadmium, or both, including Dove, Hershey, Trader Joe's, Godiva and several other popular brands.
Why: Benzene, a known human carcinogen, has been discovered by independent labs in various sprays, including sunscreen products, including Neutrogena, Banana Boat, Aveeno, and others, Old Spice, Axe, Dove, and other major brands of antiperspirants, as well as antifungal sprays made by Bayer.
Benzene is a known contaminant of petroleum products.
New Delhi: Unilever has recalled popular brands of aerosol dry shampoo, including Dove, after discovering they were contaminated with a chemical called benzene that can cause cancer.
The benzene in indoor air comes from products that contain benzene such as glues, paints, furniture wax, and detergents. The air around hazardous waste sites or gas stations can contain higher levels of benzene than in other areas.
They include products such as Dove Dry Shampoo Volume and Fullness, Dove Dry Shampoo Fresh Coconut, Nexxus Dry Shampoo Refreshing Mist and Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo Refresh and Revive. Benzene is a human carcinogen.
The report comes after certain aerosol dry shampoos, including some Dove, Nexxus, Suave, Tigi and Tresemme products, were voluntarily recalled last month due to the potential presence of benzene.
Exposure to aluminum is usually not harmful, but exposure to high levels can affect your health. Workers who breathe large amounts of aluminum dusts can have lung problems, such as coughing or abnormal chest X-rays.
Less armpit irritation. Increased natural detoxification of the body through sweating. Odor masking and prevention with pleasant, often natural fragrances such as lavender, citrus and rosemary. Moisturized healthier armpit skin if you choose a deodorant with aloe or other moisturizing ingredients.
The good news is, aluminum-free deodorant provides odor protection that's just as good as formulas that contain aluminum. If you're looking to neutralise body odor and sweating isn't a concern, aluminum-free deodorant will be just what you need.
"Perspiration levels are not as high compared to daytime and usually the 'deodorizing' is most important during the daytime. While using it occasionally at bedtime is not harmful, use of deodorants around the clock may be an additional source of unnecessary irritation to the skin."
When you stop using antiperspirant you will experience a substantial increase in growth of odor-causing bacteria in the underarm area. You may also feel additional moisture because your body is sweating, which is completely normal and natural.
