As stated on the Poison Control website: Coughing, choking and fever are common signs of hydrocarbon aspiration. “Lung irritation and pneumonia, even death, can result. Symptoms can happen quickly–within a couple of hours or even sooner. If there are no symptoms in 24 hours, the child should remain fine.”
The primary benefit of coconut oil is its moisturizing effects. This makes it ideal for chapped lips. Your lips are particularly sensitive to moisture loss because the skin is thin, and they're exposed to the elements more so than other parts of your skin.
Natural oils
Natural oils such as coconut oil, grape seed oil, tea tree oil, neem oil, almond oil and jojoba oil are excellent moisturisers. They are very gentle too and so perfect for your lips. Since coconut oil is widely available, use it as your base.
Almond oil replenishes the lips and prevents it from getting chapped while lemon acts as the natural bleaching agent that lightens the lips and makes them naturally supple and pink.
OLIVE OIL AND SUGAR
Another way of getting natural pink lips is by exfoliating them regularly. It is essential to exfoliate your lips to get rid of dead skin cells and rejuvenate your skin. Sugar and olive oil scrub is the best way to exfoliate and nourish your lips.
Lemon has natural bleaching and exfoliating properties. You can either squeeze half a lemon and apply the juice directly on your lips daily or you can also take a thin slice of lemon, sprinkle a bit of sugar on top and rub it on your lips. It will exfoliate dead cells for fresher skin to appear.

Can you use baby oil as a face moisturizer? Baby oil is noncomedogenic, meaning it won't clog your skin's pores. So if you have a dry-to-normal skin type, you can use baby oil to moisturize your face.
Safety. You may be wondering if baby oil is a safe product in the first place. Many baby oils, including those made by Johnson's, are made with mineral oil. Many rave about baby oil's moisturizing benefits but some claim it's actually a dangerous product that you should never use on yourself or your baby.
In general, baby oil will not darken the skin when used as a moisturizer. However, some beauty experts suggest mixing mineral oil with iodine — a dark-colored solution that's generally used as a mild antiseptic — and rubbing it on the skin in concentric circles to get an instantly darker skin tone.
While baby oil is perfectly safe to be used as a non-toxic alternative to other creams, it is not advisable to use it on the face. Baby oil tends to clog pores and cause acne if used on the face.
Lip hyperpigmentation is usually caused by sun exposure. Not only can it damage facial skin, sun exposure can also be one of the most common causes of dark lips. Skin, including lips that are exposed to sunlight can trigger the body to produce more melanin. As a result, the skin and lips can turn darker.
Trauma or injury. A bruise can form on one or both lips following an injury. This can cause your lips to be partly or entirely purple or black. Dry, cracked, and severely damaged lips, including burns, can also turn lips dark.
Specific triggers play a significant role like excessive sun exposure, hormonal changes and nutrition. Another skin condition, i.e. acanthosis nigricans can also cause thickening and darkening of the upper lip area. Eczemas and conditions like atopic dermatitis can cause pigmentation in the area above the upper lip.
You can use raspberry or strawberry juice mixed with petroleum jelly as a wonderful natural solution to lighten dark your lips. Remember, while all of these are remedies there are a few things you could do to prevent you lips from darkening.
Stop licking your lips: Many people suffer from a repetitive habit of licking their lips. This repetitive friction and irritation causes a darkening of the lips and even the surrounding skin.
The lips appear red because of the underlying blood vessels. Arteries are blood vessels that carry blood back to the heart. The arteries and veins are connected through a series of blood vessels called the capillaries.
Apply a non-irritating lip balm (or lip moisturizer) several times a day and before bed. If your lips are very dry and cracked, try a thick ointment, such as white petroleum jelly. Ointment seals in water longer than waxes or oils. Slather on a non-irritating lip balm with SPF 30 or higher before going outdoors.
Does licking my lips often make it pink? No. Saliva contains many enzymes. Licking your lips more often would make your lips dry, so try not to lick your lips and apply a good moisturizer instead.
Simply mix two crushed raspberries, a teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of aloe vera gel and apply this mask on your lips. Leave this mask for five minutes and then rinse with warm water. Apply little bit of moisturizer afterwards. You can use rose petals in different ways to get back that pink tinge on your lips.
