Professionals start with procaine that is a short-acting anesthetic, others prefer lidocaine with intermediate duration, tetracaine and bupivacaine have long-lasting effects.
Without numbing cream, you'll likely find microblading more painful, feeling like light scratching or minor stinging. Pain varies by person, but it's generally less comfortable than with numbing agents. Consider your pain tolerance carefully.
Lidocaine-based, benzocaine-based, and tetracaine-based anesthetics are commonly used for microblading. Proper application techniques, including preparation of the skin, application time, and post-application care, ensure the desired effect.
Use Aftercare as an after care anti-oxidant (or Vaseline). Gently apply every 1-2 hours or when you feel tender, itchy or dry for 10–14 days. This provides pain relief, moisturizes and promotes healing to help retain color. Avoid soaps/facial cleansers on pigmented areas (wash around them), pat dry with a clean towel.
The worst days after microblading are typically the first two, when you'll likely experience puffiness, redness, and tenderness.
Many people ask us: is microblading painful? Most of our clients report little or no pain. Often they say it's a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10, at most.
However, there are risks, including infection, allergic reactions, scarring, and unsatisfactory results. Proper aftercare and choosing an experienced technician are crucial. While microblading is a convenient option, it requires ongoing maintenance and could be better for some.
Sweat. For the same reason that water should be avoided during the healing/scabbing process after microblading, sweat should also be avoided. Sweat comes from the inside of the skin and can push the pigment out and cause the microblading strokes not to retain.
Unlike waxing, which can irritate your skin, and painful plucking of those pesky brow hairs, eyebrow threading is the least painful way to shape and clean up your brows.
Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment (Aquaphor) on each eyebrow with a cotton swab and clean hands, spread a VERY THIN layer of the ointment across the treated area every morning and night.
TYLENOL works best for minor pain relief. Consult your physician before taking any medication and be sure to understand all its side effects and contraindications. Small ice packs may be used (5 min max) to minimize swelling on the day of and the day after the procedure. Avoid getting new brows wet.
Aquaphor Is Your Best Friend
-We suggest Aquaphor because it tends to not cause inflammation, but if you are allergic, Vaseline will do just fine. -Always use a “total sun block” sunscreen until the area has fully healed to prevent future fading of pigment color.
The swiftest manner through which one can get rid of microbladed eyebrows is by use of glycolic acid tattoo removal or laser treatments. Saline solution is basically salt water that when applied on the brow area will break down the pigment color.
On the other hand, saline microblading removal employs a salt/saline solution which is tattooed into the skin. This osmotic process forces the pigment up and out of the skin where it forms a scab and starts healing.
Sleeping Position: Aim to sleep on your back. This neutral position ensures no direct pressure on your brows. Side Sleepers: If you naturally gravitate to the side, consider using soft barriers like travel pillows or bandaids to guard the brows.
Nano Brows is the newer alternative to microblading. This technique use a pen-like machine to create natural looking brows instead of the traditional Microblading blade. Nano brows cause less trauma to the skin especially for those with sensitive skin.
Make sure you have eaten within 2 hours prior to your procedure. Do not take Ibuprofen, aspirin or any other pain medications that thins your blood on the morning of your procedure unless medically necessary. Do not consume caffeine or sugar on the morning of your procedure. Do not workout the day of your procedure.
