Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP)
All GRFD Cadets must participate in the SMP. ROTC Cadets participating in the SMP will attend one weekend training event each month as well as a two-week annual training with their Reserve Component Unit.
Each scholarship also includes a monthly stipend of $300 to $500 depending on your academic classification. Depending on your classification, the stipend rate is: $300/month for freshmen (for 8 months) $350/month for sophomores (for 8 months)

Most SMP Cadets have attended both Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT), but it is not required to join ROTC.
Typically cadets will attend the squadron twice a week for around 2 and a half hours a night. Outside of these evenings, there are activities to do at weekends and in the school holidays. The amount of time a cadet wants to commit to is up to them.

Statutory Maternity Pay ( SMP ) is paid for up to 39 weeks. You get: 90% of your average weekly earnings (before tax) for the first 6 weeks. £184.03 or 90% of your average weekly earnings (whichever is lower) for the next 33 weeks.
For a complete SMP treatment (2-3 sessions), you can expect it to cost you anywhere from $1,900 to $3,800, with the average treatment costing about $2,850 in 2024.
For the first six weeks, SMP is paid at 90% of your normal earnings in the reference period. For the next 33 weeks, it is paid at the same 90% of your normal earnings or the flat rate, whichever is lower. Linda is paid monthly on the 26th of each month.

To be part of one of our cadet units it costs £10 per month per cadet. This money goes into the unit's fund and helps to pays towards trips and equipment for the cadets. There will be additional costs for larger trips and activities, but the amount is subsided by unit funds.
First years Cadet don't get weekend off but second year do ( with the exception of RFC ) .
The latest you can join is before your 17th birthday. Most cadets leave when they're 20 years old and some stay involved as an adult volunteer.
The maximum age is 21 years and the minimum age is 17 years on the date of commencement of the course. A relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 2 years for women candidates.
SMPs can recover their memorized shape by controlling the temperature of the material rather than requiring any mechanical hinges [5]. Owing to this attractive characteristic, SMPs are suitable to realize lightweight deployable structures [6].

To get into the SMP, students with no prior military service will attend Basic Combat Training (BCT) and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) during the summer and will be assigned to a local National Guard or Reserve unit upon completion of training.
Cadet salaries in United Kingdom

Cadet Advance Pay (Plebes only). All incoming plebes will receive a mandatory pay advance of $8,400. The advance pay is used to procure initial clothing and equipment requirements. Cadets repay this advance over a 24-month period, at $350 per month.
You will also have to pass a weapons handling test, which shows that you have the skills and knowledge to safely handle a weapon. All handling and use of weapons or ammunition in Army Cadets is directly supervised by adult instructors who have received in-depth training as part of their induction process.
