50 lashes per eye can be considered a complete set for some and only be a partial set for others. A skilled eyelash technician should be able to look at your natural lashes and then determine what a full set is FOR YOU.
To maintain a full, soft and lush look, we recommend only 1 set of refills (or in rare cases an absolute maximum of two) in between each full set. Think of it like this- if you applied hairspray to your hair too many times in between washes, your hair would be stiff and clumpy.
From a full set of classic to volume lashes, a stylist will apply between 60–120 extensions on each eye to your natural lashes. A full set of eyelash extensions typically takes around 2–3 hours to apply.
Applying an initial full set of eyelash extensions will take from 90 mins to 2 hours. During this time you will be comfortably reclined on the treatment table with your eyes closed.
The best time to opt for a Full Set of lashes is when you're starting fresh or seeking a dramatic change in your lash game. On the other hand, Lash Refills are your trusty sidekick for maintaining that gorgeous look you've already fallen in love with.
In an ideal world, classic individual lashes and extensions last up to 8 weeks, but for them to last that long, you have to care for them. Realistically, it's more like 6 weeks for professional lash extensions with infills every two weeks and 4–5 weeks for home-applied individual lashes.
Typically we suggest if your client comes in 40% - 50% of their lash extensions left then an infill is doable, anything less than 40% of their eyelash extensions left would require a full set treatment.
For a classic set, an experienced technicians may charge $100-$150 or more. However beginner lash artist may consider starting with a range of $50 to $75 for a full set of lash extensions. For a volume set, it might be a bit higher, around 80-85$ for beginners.
As all lash techs know, the classic lash technique uses a 1:1 ratio of extensions to the client's natural lashes. It's the first technique that all lash technicians learn. The volume lash technique is where more than one synthetic lash is applied to each of the client's natural lashes in a volume fan.
Hybrid Lash Extensions – Lasts up to six weeks
From the name itself, hybrid lash extensions can last the longest, about 6 to 8 weeks. It creates a stunning set of natural eyelashes with thick and dense looks.
Of the classic lash curls, C curls are the most hooded eye-friendly! As C curls are not as bouncy as D or DD curls, they can provide enough space for the lash to curl without coming into contact with the eyelid. Depending on how pronounced your client's monolid eyes are, C curls may or may not be suitable.
Short (5-8 mm)
Short lengths enhance the eyelash look without being too noticeable. So, it is the best option for those with short lashes because it creates a natural look.
$100 & up. Eyelash fills should be scheduled every 2-3 weeks to maintain proper fullness, as your natural lashes shed. Your eyelash fills can be completed in approximately 45-60 minutes, depending on style. Foreign Extensions Fills are for new customers only who have been going to another eyelash studio.
It is recommended to get a Lash Fill every 2-3 weeks to maintain fullness. Keep in mind your natural lashes do normally shed 1-5 per day – per eye, being why refills are so important, this also depends on your natural hair growth cycle & client aftercare.
Clients should come in every two to three weeks to get a fill, which accommodates the growth of their natural nails and keeps their manicure fresh. A full set should last about 4 - 6 weeks. After eight weeks, it's time to take them off and do a new set.
How many lashes do you need for a classic set? A typical full set of Classic lashes can vary from having 40 extensions up to 150 extensions per eye depending on the clients desired look and of course how many natural healthy lashes they have to begin with!
The 90-degree rule
The 90-degree rules simply mean that each eyelash extension should be placed at a 90-degree angle. Make sure you attach the lash at a 90-degree from the eyelid Instead of following the natural lashes' direction or your body position towards the client.
Volume extensions are a better option for those prone to strip lashes. Hybrid lashes are the best option if you have medium-length and healthy lashes. As a result, even those with weak or thin lashes can benefit from Hybrid lash treatment.
How Much Do Lash Techs Make A Week? An average full-time classic eyelash tech salary works out as follows: 7 fills per day x 5 days a week = 35 fills per week. 35 fills x $50 per fill = $1,750.
There's a growing demand for skilled lash technicians in many countries and cities, making it a profitable venture for anyone already aware of the field and products.
Costs vary wildly from salon to salon, but expect a starting point around $120 for the basics and up to $300. Because everyone's eyes are different, you'll want a set that complements your eye shape, lash length, and lifestyle.
Generally, if a client has less than 40-50% of their extensions remaining, or if it's been longer than 3-4 weeks since their last appointment, a full set may be more appropriate. This ensures that the lashes look their best and maintains the integrity of your work.
Hybrid lashes, which are sometimes called a "mixed set," have a fuller look than classic lashes but aren't as uniform as a Russian volume set. This method is perfect for people who want more drama than classic lashes but don't want the fullness of volume lashes.
The Amount of Adhesive Being Used
This is why we do not recommend relying on refills indefinitely. For the best possible bond and to avoid too much adhesive build up on your lash line, a new set of extensions will be required after a fill in or two.
