Because of its larger molecule of hyaluronic acid, Restylane® Lyft takes the body a bit more time to degrade, so it may last an average of up to six months.
Some bruising and swelling may occur after injections of Restylane. Work and school may be returned to right away, but some patients elect to wait for 24 to 48 hours, until these symptoms have resolved and will remain malleable underneath the tissue for 78 hours after a treatment.

The fillers are easily malleable for about two days, so you don't want to do any deep tissue massage or anything like that. You can do your normal skin care routine, but don't press hard.
Fillers remain moldable for 1-2 weeks, and pressure can deform your filler.
With dermal filler injections, you are looking at waiting 14 days at most for the filler to settle. Even better, you can address several aesthetic concerns in a mere hour while it can take two to three hours to address one aesthetic concern with an invasive cosmetic procedure.
DON'T touch the treated area for at least 6-8 hours afterwards. The risk of infection is much higher in the time immediately after your filler treatment, so medical experts recommend not touching the affected area for at least that amount of time.
In some cases, we recommend our patients massage their fillers following treatment to smooth them out below the skin; however, too much massage too soon may cause the filler to migrate slightly.
Generally, any lumps or bumps that appear after fillers will disappear on their own within one to two weeks. Give the treatment a couple of weeks to improve, applying ice regularly.
Dermal filler doesn't 'normally', move after treatment. Immediately after treatment, in certain areas of the face, I do gently massage the area/s that were injected to help mold the product and prevent lumps. It does take about 2 weeks for the filler to settle and integrate into the tissue.
In rare cases, facial fillers like Juvederm can migrate to another site of your face within a few days of your injections. This happens when the filler moves before it has fully bonded with your facial tissue.

Small bumps after fillers can smooth out and go away in 2-3 weeks. I do advise clients to massage them gently as long as they are not painful.
After the 3rd day and before the 7th day post-injection, I recommend massaging any area with a visible bump, excess fullness, or asymmetry, several times a day, until it smooths out. This massage can be performed with a fingertip or the tip of a Q-tip.
Don't worry — this is entirely normal, and the lip fillers will soften with time. Your lips may also be swollen and tender, which can contribute to the lip filler feeling hard under the skin. Dermal filler treatments like Juvederm and Restylane are made of hyaluronic acid.
The filler can take several weeks to soften and settle into your skin. This means that patients won't see the ultimate results of their treatment immediately. Although individual results will vary, many people achieve the full effect within two weeks after receiving their injections.
It takes up to 4 weeks for the filler to fully integrate into the tissue and some fillers are more cohesive than others. We often advise my patients that they should drink plenty of water to stay hydrated after treatment, as hyaluronic based fillers are water-binding.
Though it is not exactly the same for each patient, lip filler stops being malleable after about one week.
Migration of Restylane: Restylane may migrate from its original injection site and produce visible fullness in adjacent tissue or other unintended effects.
It is not likely that the filler products would move if you wait at least a few days before pressing really hard on the areas and having extractions. The hyaluronic acid fillers settle nicely into the skin, and once any swelling goes down, it would be pretty unusual for anyone to be able to displace them.
In reality, fillers take up to four weeks to “settle,” according to Healthline. Different types of fillers can settle more quickly, and your lifestyle and similar factors can also affect the amount of time it takes to settle.
Experiencing lumps in lips after injectable filler is extremely common—and lumps most often resolve naturally with time. Gentle lip massage 5-7 days after the treatment can help smooth any lumps and bumps in the lips.
While massage can sometimes improve mild symptoms such as moderate lumpiness or slight asymmetry, don't perform massage on your fillers unless instructed to do so by your plastic surgeon or injector.
Smoothing Out the Lumps
The good news is yes, those pesky filler lumps will in fact go away. It's actually quite uncommon for patients to experience any irritation or lumps following their procedure, but if you do, then you should expect them to dissipate after a few days.
"While social media may make it look like filler migration is common, it is actually a very rare occurrence," says Greenwich, Connecticut-based board-certified dermatologist Kim Nichols, MD.
Do not massage your lips for 24 to 48 hours after the treatment. Once your swelling subsides down, you can gently massage your lips with light pressure.
Dr. Frank says the best way to deal with migration is to dissolve the filler with hyaluronidase (an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid gels). In just a few hours, hyaluronidase softens the filler and returns the lips to a more natural shape, projection, and size.
