You will see an immediate result after Russian lip fillers. Allow a few days for swelling to subside, and 1-2 weeks for the filler to settle.
Does Russian Lip Filler Procedure Take Longer to Heal? The healing time for the Russian lip filler look is similar to other techniques. It is normal to experience some swelling and redness around the injection site for a few days following the fillers.
About a week (7 days) after getting lip fillers, the swelling should go down, and your lips will be smaller than they were right after the procedure. This is when you'll start to see the final results of the treatment. Usually, the lip filler swelling stage lasts for about two weeks.
Whilst most clients have shared that the treatment does not hurt any more than the classic lip, the Russian technique does risk significantly more bruising and swelling. Results should settle fully after 2 weeks and both techniques share the same longevity.
Swelling and healing
Another factor Dr Karla highlights is how, “Immediate post-injection swelling can temporarily mask asymmetries or unevenness in lip filler results. As swelling subsides and the tissues heal, the asymmetrical distribution of filler may become more apparent. This can result in lopsidedness.”
The lips will start to look normal after about 7-14 days once the swelling and bruising have subsided. However, it may take up to a month for any small lumps or bumps to completely disappear. Can I wear makeup after lip filler? It's best to avoid wearing makeup on or around the lips immediately after the treatment.
The Blessed Cupid's Bow
As well as having a voluptuous look, the most attractive lips often also feature a striking cupid's bow, which catches the eye due to its sharp points.
While we don't recommend our patients give themselves lip massages in the days after treatment, there are other aftercare steps to help ensure the best results from treatment. Ice Application: Applying an ice pack or cold compress can help reduce any swelling or discomfort in the first 24-48 hours after treatment.
It is a technique that aims to add height to the lips with minimal frontal projection and tends to be favoured by younger women. However, patients must understand that the Russian lips will not suit everyone. This is because everyone's anatomy (the shape of the lips and underlying definition) is different.
Swelling is a normal reaction just after receiving lip filler treatment. You may immediately get the appearance of having bigger lips due to the additional volume that swelling adds. But your lips may appear smaller in comparison as the swelling goes down over the next few days.
The most dangerous aspect of this technique is the greatly increased risk of vascular occlusion, due to the anatomy of the lip and the angle of the needles. A vascular occlusion is when blood is no longer able to pass through a blood vessel because it is blocked with filler.
There is in fact more chance of the filler moving outside of the lip with the Russian Lips technique. This again is due to the vertical placement of the filler, vs horizontal.
After Care for Lip Fillers
For a few days after the injection, keep your lips clean using gentle, fragrance-free products. You can keep the lips moisturized with a skin protectant balm like Vaseline or Aquaphor, but avoid other topical products that may irritate or lead to infection.
Days 6-7: New Lip Shape Begins to Emerge
Swelling should be minimal at this point, and all signs of bruising should be either completely or nearly gone. It's normal to feel some tightness in the treated areas still. However, your lips should look smoother, softer, and more symmetrical by this point.
Lumps of dermal filler in the lips can be a real cause for concern for patients; therefore, you must ensure you carry out a post-procedure massage after injecting to smooth the filler and mould it into place to avoid lumps.
Less Than 5% of People Have This Rare Lip Shape #anatomy Cupid's bow lips, named after the bow-like shape that resembles Cupid's bow and arrow, are characterized by a distinct and alluring lip shape. These lips have a well-defined curve on the upper lip, creating a natural indentation in the center.
Researchers found that the most attractive lip shape has a lot more to do with symmetry than a specific size or shape, and that lips with a 1:2 ratio of upper to lower lip are the most attractive. A heavily defined cupid's bow is the most-requested lip shape in the Vancouver laser experience.
M-shaped lips are the most challenging to fill as there is naturally more volume in the center of your lip.
