Blind pimples can develop when sebum (oil), bacteria, and dirt become trapped deep within a hair follicle. The end result is a painful lump under your skin that doesn't have a “head” as other pimples might have. If you have oily skin, you may be more prone to blind pimples than people with dry skin.
Soak a clean washcloth in water that is hot, but not too hot to touch. Apply the warm compress. Hold the warm compress on the blind pimple for 10 to 15 minutes. Repeat the application three to four times a day until the blind pimple comes to a head and releases the pus.
Unfortunately, there's no magic trick to getting rid of a blind pimple in a few minutes. (Don't use toothpaste as an overnight treatment.) The issue with these types of pimples is they cannot be accessed topically, meaning you cannot pop them, and your normal acne wash will not work.
Here's the deal: Blind pimples can go away on their own (Dr. Schultz says 50 to 80 percent of the time, they do), but because of all that inflammation within the skin, Dr. Yadav says it can take weeks or even months (months!) for the discomfort to subside.
ICE THE OFFENDING SPOT! Most of the time when you discover a new blind pimple, it will still be small. Take this opportunity to ice it by holding a clean cold pack to the area for three rounds of five minutes on, ten minutes off. The cold will help to reduce inflammation and swelling.
#2 Use a warm compress to draw pimple to a head
The warm compress helps to open the pores and draw the pimple to the surface to form a head. You can apply a warm compress to a clean face for up to 20 minutes. Use a warm compress multiple times a day to help encourage the formation of a pimple head.
The relationship between stress and acne has been misunderstood by many. Stress can't directly cause acne. However, studies have shown that if you already have acne, stress does make it worse. Researchers have found that wounds, including acne, are much slower in healing when a person is under stress.
According to the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), retinol (retinoid), a topical form of vitamin A, can help treat and prevent inflammatory acne lesions. In fact, the organization recommends using topical retinoids to treat several types of acne. Retinol may help improve acne by: decreasing inflammation.
While coffee doesn't cause acne, some studies suggest it can make it worse. Caffeine makes you feel alert and awake but also leads to a heightened stress response in the body. Stress hormones, such as cortisol, may increase the amount of oil produced by your sebaceous glands, meaning you can be more prone to breakouts.
Acne Problems
If you haven't gotten enough rest the night before, the telltale sign of sleeplessness could sit on top of your nose. Acne can flare up when you aren't getting enough sleep. In fact, sleep deprivation is considered one of the three main acne triggers, along with stress and sweating.
"Known technically as a 'papule', a blind pimple is a superficial raised red lump that occurs when a pore (and its associated sebaceous gland) becomes inflamed," Dr. Squire told marie claire. "These are distinguished from a 'pustule' which is exactly as it sounds (it contains pus and can be squeezed).
Does putting toothpaste on a pimple make it go away? You may have heard this suggestion, but experts on acne say don't try it. Toothpaste could make that spot on your skin even more red, irritated, and noticeable.
Hormonal acne is also usually pretty specific in its location on the face: jawline, chin, neck. And it's appearance: big, often blind pimples under the skin's surface and cyst-like – they're usually painful to touch.
Once a whitehead begins to form, a warm compress can help release the pus that accumulates under the skin. Soak a clean washcloth in hot water. Apply the warm cloth to the affected area for 10 to 15 minutes. Repeat this step three to four times daily until the pimple begins to heal.
By using warm treatments first, you can help remove any debris that's trapped in your pores. After applying warmth for 5 to 10 minutes, you can then follow up with ice for one minute to decrease inflammation and swelling. You can repeat this process daily as needed until the pimple clears up.
Try steam or warm compress to speed up the healing process of acne. This also helps reducing pain and inflammation and relieving the pus. Soak cotton pad in hot water and press it against the pimple. Keep it that way for about 10 minutes and repeat a couple of times a day.
"Petrolatum is inherently comedogenic, which means it will clog the pores," he says. "It won't heal acne—it will literally cause it." Since petroleum jelly does have some anti-inflammatory effects that can help diminish the look of redness, Dr. Lain says.
Honey isn't the magical end-all, be-all of curing acne and preventing future acne from ever popping up again. But it is known to have natural antibacterial and calming qualities. These qualities may help soothe inflamed acne blemishes.
When we have changes in hormone levels on a monthly basis, an increase in hormones can trigger increased oil production, increased risk of bacterial infection, and re-irritation of that pimple again. 'Sometimes these reoccurring pimples are cystic and come back because they never form a head to be extracted.

Don't pop or squeeze pus-filled pimples
You can cause the bacteria to spread and the inflammation to worsen.
“When a pillowcase isn't laundered or changed regularly, a build-up of dirt and oil from the environment as well as the skin and hair touching the pillow is transferred back to your skin. This can clog pores and cause blemishes.” Obviously, there are ways to prevent pillowcase-related breakouts.

Firstly, with bacterial acne, water helps to remove toxins and bacteria on the skin, reducing the potential for pore-clogging in the process.
