If you are using a Loving Tan Deluxe Bronzing Mousse, we recommend leaving this on your skin for six to eight hours for the best results. If you're using a Loving Tan 2 HR Express Mousse, you can rinse this off after two hours. Make sure to avoid water and excessive sweating while the tan is on.
I put a little in my hand and blend it in to my body in circular motions until it's all absorbed. I've used a mitt to apply tanner in the past and I've found that the latex gloves work the best to get an even, dark, natural tan.
Generally, it takes around 15 minutes to apply the tan. Development times are as follows: Loving Tan Deluxe Bronzing Mousse (Medium, Dark and Ultra Dark) series - 6 - 8 hours (8 recommended); and. Loving Tan 2 Hr Express (Medium and Dark) series - 2 Hours only.
The colour that is rinsed off in the shower is just the colour guide, and the active ingredients will continue to darken and develop for up to twelve hours. ✨
Don't Wear Tight Clothing Immediately: Tight clothing can rub against freshly applied fake tan and cause streaking or smudging. Opt for loose, breathable clothing until your tan has fully dried and developed. Don't Forget SPF: Fake tan does not provide protection against harmful UV rays.
I've heard so many good things about this product and I FINALLY tried it out. I get why a lot of people like it. I like how it feels once it dries down and doesn't rub off on my sheets (as much as other products). I like the color it gives me, too.
We recommend you tan 1 – 2 days prior to any special event. This also allows you time to apply an extra layer of tan if you would like a deeper colour. If you are an experienced self tanner, you can apply a second layer of tan 10 minutes after the first coat is applied.
So I found out after my second round of tanning that you can apply lotion post-shower. I did, and I think it helps the tan stay and smooths out better on your skin!
If you're in a hurry, spray the tops of your feet with a tanning mist where the sun would hit - just make sure you're standing on a dark towel, unless you fancy bronzing your bathroom floor in the process. Don't forget to do a little clean up after your tanning session!
Can I go to the beach/swimming in the tan? Yes, you can! The mousse is waterproof once the colour guide is rinsed off and the tan is fully developed.
Apply Moisturizer Before Tanner
After exfoliating your body, continue the prepping process by applying a moisturizer. You shouldn't apply self-tanner without moisturizing first, because skipping out on this prep step could potentially leave you with patchy color — this goes for your face and the rest of your body.
To keep your colour where it belongs – on your body – we recommend waiting for around 15 minutes, or until your tan is fully dry, before getting dressed. Even then, it's a good idea to bypass the skinny jeans and tight strappy tops and pop on something loose, dark and comfy until it's time to shower.
Fake tan can usually be removed from bedding. Try washing your cotton sheets in a 60 deg wash, or as hot a wash as the care label allows if the stain persists. Soak harder-to-shift stains on white cotton bedding in a pre-wash stain removal solution before washing as normal.
TIP 6 - Don't rinse off with soap - gently rinse off excess topical bronzers/color in the shower with your hands to ensure that the active tanning ingredient is distributed evenly and not scrubbed off. TIP 7 - Pat dry yourself gently - to ensure that the tan is not rubbed off.
After tanning, you will produce a little bit of sweat, but that's it. There is no reason to shower right away because water does not affect the tan. This is another myth that has been around for ages. The truth is, showering right after getting a tan will not cause staining of your skin.
The answer is YES, but only after the self tan has fully developed. All Bali Body fake tan's take around 8 hours to fully develop and reach their maximum level of glow. Regardless of when you wash the colour guide off, we highly recommend you don't moisturise until the 8 hour mark.
The professional indoor tanning industry promotes and teaches what we refer to as The Golden Rule of Smart Tanning: Don't ever sunburn. The indoor tanning industry has been more effective at teaching sunburn prevention than those who promote complete sun avoidance.
