If you got pillow face from your injections, Dr. Qazi can help! Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that can be injected into filler-treated areas to dissolve the filler. However, hyaluronidase is only effective if your filler is made from hyaluronic acid.
I routinely let my patients know in consultation that if you've had facial filler done, and you are unhappy with the result, as long as the material is a hyaluronic acid filler such as from the Restylane or Juvederm families of fillers, the results can be reversed with the injectable enzyme hyaluronidase.
Answer: Swelling
Swelling usually resolves within 2 weeks.
Pillow face is generally the result of poor technique and over-injection. Injecting more filler does not maximize results, it diminishes them. An experienced injector will possess an excellent sense of visual balance.
Dissolving filler to get back to baseline
Once doctors diagnose an overfilled face, they'll typically suggest dissolving excess HA with an injectable enzyme called hyaluronidase, which begins to work immediately, melting away the bulk of old filler within 24 hours or so, to bring patients back to baseline.
Sunken cheeks occur when you don't have a lot of tissue (flesh) between your zygoma (the bony arch of your cheek under your eye) and your mandible (your lower jawbone). Both women and men can have them. Sunken cheeks are often attributed to the aging process, which causes you to lose facial fat.
As mentioned above, hyaluronic acid is a key ingredient for skin plumping. This gel-like substance exists naturally within the body but becomes less abundant as we age. By replenishing lost hyaluronic acid through your skincare routine, it's easier to maintain smooth, plump skin.
The good news is that pillow face from fillers can easily be reversed. It is best if you avoid getting pillow face altogether by properly vetting medical practitioners and only booking appointments with experienced, board-certified cosmetic physicians.
Overfilling in the cheeks and under the eyes obliterates the natural lid-cheek junction. The whole mid-face becomes one continuous bulge, and the eyes become smaller, much like a pillow.
Massage can encourage the filler to be broken up by the body more quickly. But in practice this still takes a long time (like weeks of daily vigorous massage) to improve the outcome. This may also spread the product over a larger area causing more problems.
To get rid of the sleep lines on your face just massage the area gently and tap the skin repeatedly over the wrinkled folds until they slowly begin to fade away. Doing this will increase the circulation to the skin surface so the blood will fill in the wrinkles on the skin quickly.
FALSE. Your sleep position won't actually cause sagging, but it can lead to sleep wrinkles: those creases and fine lines you see each AM in your bathroom mirror. They're caused by your pillow tugging at delicate facial skin as you sleep.
Once they appear, sleep wrinkles won't go away
The problem of mature skin that gets marked is also often the result of slower circulation in the skin.
Excessive use of fillers distorts natural face features, causing an aged appearance. When the face becomes distorted this makes you look unnatural. And an unnatural look will make you look disproportioned. A hallmark of beauty is proportions.
Your plastic surgeon will make a small incision on the inside of your mouth on both sides of your face to expose the buccal fat pads. Your provider will press gently on the fat pads to further expose them, then cut and remove the fat pads. Finally, your provider will close the incisions with sutures.
Your face may be swollen and bruised. It may take 5 to 7 days for the swelling to go down, and 10 to 14 days for the bruising to fade. It may be hard to eat at first.
“Chipmunk cheeks” and “pillow face” occur as a result of over-injecting the face with dermal fillers. Today, injectable fillers are one of the most popular cosmetic treatments–and for excellent reason. They offer a safe, effective, non-invasive solution in the battle of aging.
There is no question that sleeping on your side will flatten your face on that side and give you a less symmetrical shape, which can be quite distinct in some people. Regularly changing your sleeping position to ensure you are less likely to have a one-sided sleep is ideal.
People looking to gain weight in the face may opt for fat transfer surgery. This procedure involves surgeons taking fat from another area of the body and injecting it into the face. Another option is to use dermal fillers.
