It is perfectly normal after having wrinkle smoothing injections in your forehead, for your brow and eyelids to feel heavy. It is almost impossible to treat wrinkles in that area and not give that heavy brow feeling.
This is a fairly common error and results from over-Botoxing the forehead, specifically the frontalis muscle, which goes all the way across the forehead and is used to raise the eyebrows. Too much Botox can relax the forehead too much, which results in that heavy feeling.
The heavy sensation will completely go away once your Botox wears off in 3 months. But it usually becomes less noticeable after a week or two. If this has happened to you, be sure to let your doctor know this happened next time you get Botox, so he or she can adjust your treatment to prevent this problem in the future.
Immediately following your Botox injections, you may feel slight residual stinging from the injection. You may also notice a small bump at the injection site, a bit like a mosquito bite. No worries, these bumps will fade quickly. Bruising is always a possibility.
The Frontalis is the muscle in your forehead which controls the raising of your eyebrows. After 2 weeks, if you still feel heaviness, try gentle eyebrow raising exercises and blinking your eyelids rapidly for 30 seconds. Do this 4 times daily for 2-4 days as it may help resolve the heaviness.
The feeling of heaviness in your eyebrows is because it is harder to raise your eyebrows. This happens if you only relax your frontalis with Botox. People do this because they have horizontal lines on their forehead and they either don't have frown lines or crow's feet, or these other wrinkles don't bother them.
Don't lie down for at least 3 hours after receiving Botox. Don't go into any saunas, hot tubs, or tanning booths for at least 4 hours. This helps to prevent bruising, because heat can raise your blood pressure. Otherwise, you can resume your regular activities right after getting Botox.
Botulinum toxin injection makes the forehead appear bigger. Botox cosmetic procedure functions well at creating an extended forehead and brow lift because it calms the forehead muscle. The skin is no longer pulled down by the relaxed muscles.
The Eyelid Droop – Too much Botox in the forehead can also cause the forehead to relax more than needed, which causes the eyebrows to droop and feel heavy. If you have some excess eyelid skin (called hooding), then this drooping of the eyebrows makes the eyelids look worse, or more hooded.

What causes your head to feel heavy? There are many different possible causes of a head that feels heavy. These range from mild conditions like a headache or sinus infection, to more serious conditions like a concussion or brain tumor. Most often, a head that feels heavy isn't serious.
However, BOTOX results are day by day, as it takes a few days to settle into place. Some patients may see the impact of their treatment as early as 3 – 4 days, but most people begin to see results in about 10 – 14 days.
Over the next two to three weeks, any swelling and bruising should disappear, and you'll notice the reduced appearance of wrinkles and facial lines. Botox can help smooth out wrinkles, smile, and facial lines that you don't like.
Botox does not alter sensation. However Botox does weaken the muscles surrounding the injection site. The weakness of the muscles may feel unusual at first but you will adapt to it.
When someone is receiving too much treatment with anti-wrinkle injections, the skin can become extremely smooth and the light bounces off in a uniform way. So, the skin appears shiny, which is why it can look 'frozen'.
The goal of the treatment should not be to immobilize any forehead movement, or else a patient will show the unwanted frozen face symptoms. A successful Botox treatment in the forehead should still result in the patient having some ability to move their forehead.
Too much Botox in the forehead muscles can cause the eyebrows to droop, making the upper eyelids look very heavy and hooded. The face may look angry or sad all the time. Too much Botox around the eyes can dramatically affect facial expression. The face is simply frozen.
The only person you never need to tip is a doctor, even for aesthetic treatments like Botox (another reason to only get injections from a dermatologist or plastic surgeon). Lid and brow ptosis from Botox usually appears a few days to a week after being injected. Usually, it gets better after three to four weeks.
After getting Botox, it's typical to have redness, tenderness, and swelling. These side effects usually disappear in 1 day. Bruising is also common. You can apply a pack of ice for relief.
Specifically, injections on the forehead or between the eyes may spread into the eyebrows and cause the brow to lower, causing a droopy eyelid. Answer: Botox migration
The botox can migrate either at the time of injection or for a little while afterwards. The effect may only come on after days to 2 weeks later as the botox starts to work. The greater the volume injected the greater the risk of migration.
For horizontal forehead lines, practitioners can inject up to 15–30 units of Botox. For “11” lines between the eyes (or glabellar lines), up to 40 units are indicated, with higher doses needed in male patients .
