The frontalis muscle needs a decent amount of movement in order to maintain the proper brow lift. In some instances, Botox injections can cause the brow to descend, causing crowding of the upper eyelids, giving a drooping appearance.
Because the frontalis muscle is an eyebrow elevator, placing too much product too far laterally in the forehead can entirely block the frontalis muscle and lead to a droopy eyebrow. In patients who are younger, typically in their mid-30s to early 40s, usually this is not a significant consequence.
When Botox is applied to problem areas around the eyebrows, the muscles relax and the skin on top of them becomes smoother. The muscles around the eyebrows are pulled upwards, elevating the eyebrows and making a patient's eyes appear more open. Patients are thrilled to find they look alert, peppy, and rested.
Botox works by weakening muscles. If you weaken the upper forehead (frontalis) muscles, you will not get a brow lift, your brow will drop. The injector actually must weaken the muscles that pull down the brow.
Botox is a temporary treatment. The treatment can last three to seven months, but the droopy eyelids will typically go away in four to six weeks. Apart from waiting, a couple of treatments might alleviate the problem: eyedrops, such as apraclonidine (Iopidine), which can help if the eyelids are drooping, not the brows.

Botox may cause your eyebrows to look slightly uneven for as long as the treatment lasts. It's also possible that the “frozen” appearance of the muscle will slightly relax a couple of days or weeks after you first get the injections.
Lid and brow ptosis from Botox usually appears a few days to a week after being injected. Usually, it gets better after three to four weeks.
Why Does Botox Make Your Forehead Shiny? Light naturally reflects off of smooth surfaces, so the smoother your skin, the more light will bounce. Botox injections smooth the skin, which can cause it to appear shinier, especially if it is overdone.
Specifically, injections on the forehead or between the eyes may spread into the eyebrows and cause the brow to lower, causing a droopy eyelid. In most cases, droopy eyelid occurs between one and three weeks after treatment, and patients typically experience this adverse effect for just a few weeks.
Botox can certainly be used to change the shape of your brows and to create a more pronounced arch. At your age, unless you have significant horizontal forehead rhytids (wrinkles) it may be prudent to look into enhancing your brow arch by more conservative measures first, such as make-up or brow shaping.
Eyelid droop often happens when the person giving the treatment doesn't have proper training and enough experience. They can inject Botox into the wrong area or use a dose that's too high, which leads to muscle weakness and droop. You could have trouble fully opening your eyes or vision problems.
According to Dr Gavin Chan, one of the most important things practitioners can do is to, “inject the lateral tail of the corrugator which is the muscle which causes the bunching (6.35) of the frown. Superficially injecting the lateral tail of the frown (corrugator) muscle can help avoid ptosis”.
This is a side effect of Botox treatments, which can be caused by having an injection done too close to your eyebrows, which pushes them down and in turn, makes your eyelids droopy and puffy.
"If you do too much Botox on your forehead for many, many years, the muscles will get weaker and flatter," cautions Wexler, adding that the skin can also appear thinner and looser. Moreover, as your muscles become weaker, they can start to recruit surrounding muscles when you make facial expressions.
Patients must be 18 years or older to be able to get Botox. However, most experts agree that in most cases, patients at a good age for preventative Botox treatment are those in their mid-late 20s and early 30s who are prone to wrinkles.
However, BOTOX results are day by day, as it takes a few days to settle into place. Some patients may see the impact of their treatment as early as 3 – 4 days, but most people begin to see results in about 10 – 14 days.
The average age for people to receive their first BOTOX treatment is, generally, at some point in their 30s. Most women, and some men, begin to notice a few fine lines or wrinkles around their eyes or forehead area at this age.
The arch of the eyebrows after botulinum treatment is higher than desired. This is a subjective finding. There may be diagonal tension lines in the skin from the upper eyelid to the tail of the eyebrow. When you raise your eyebrows, there is movement on the sides of the forehead, but less movement centrally.
Botox onset is 5 to 7 days. Botox peaks at 10 to 14 days.
Too much Botox in the forehead muscles can cause the eyebrows to droop, making the upper eyelids look very heavy and hooded. The face may look angry or sad all the time. Too much Botox around the eyes can dramatically affect facial expression. The face is simply frozen.
