Wash the microbladed area twice per day followed by applying the microblading aftercare ointment. At the start and end of each day, use your clean fingertips and a mild antibacterial soap, like Cetaphil, to gently cleanse your eyebrows for 10-15 seconds.
Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment (Aquaphor) on each eyebrow with a cotton swab and clean hands, spread a VERY THIN layer of the ointment across the treated area every morning and night.
Lukewarm water, gentle lather, rinse, & pat dry. Apply A&D ointment about three times a day until you're done scabbing/flaking. Avoid submerging them in water. If they get wet, pat them dry as soon as you can. Your brows look beautiful!
VASELINE AND PETROLIUM JELLY ARE NOT SUITABLE AFTERCARE TO USE ON MICROBLADING. Remember the colour is up to 50% darker straight after the treatment. It will fade after 4 to 7 days and the true colour will not come through until up to 4 weeks after the initial treatment.
We recommend applying unrefined, cold-pressed, organic castor oil from a glass jar or BPA-free plastic container directly to the brows before sleeping. It is highly recommended that clients test castor oil on an area of skin away from their eyes and face before using it on their eyelashes.
Heal Ointment
A+D Original Ointment is specially formulated with two active ingredients, Petrolatum and Lanolin, that form a protective barrier to help seal out irritating wetness and allows the skin to heal naturally.
The absolute best results come from keeping your brows extremely DRY for the next 10 days!
When your freshly microbladed eyebrows get wet, the pigment can loosen. Unlike traditional tattoos, microblading does not penetrate deep into the skin. The pigment remains close to the skin's surface, which makes it vulnerable to external factors like water.
The worst days after microblading are typically the first two, when you'll likely experience puffiness, redness, and tenderness.
The Skin Candy After Balm serves as an excellent microblading aftercare product. Its rich components ensure pigment retention. The formula moisturizes, forms a protective film and still allows the skin to breathe. Another popular microblading aftercare cream is the Skin Candy AntiShock Aftercare Cream.
Speaking of getting wet, another best Microblading Aftercare you should follow is not to sweat too much. Do not exercise or engage in extreme activities because our salty sweat will eliminate the pigment. Avoid being exposed to the sun because the dye on your brows will fade immediately due to the UV Rays.
Day 1: (day of the procedure): Every 2 hours, gently blot the brow area with a lightly dampened, clean paper towel/washcloth to absorb excess lymph fluid. Gently pat and dry the area, then apply a small amount of balm (provided to you).
Around days eight or nine of the healing process, your brows may take on a spooky appearance, appearing faded, gray, or even patchy. This is known as the microblading ghosting phase. The fading is a regular and temporary part of the healing process. Your bold, beautiful brows will make their triumphant return.
Keep the area MOISTURIZED. Use Aftercare as an after care anti-oxidant (or Vaseline). Gently apply every 1-2 hours or when you feel tender, itchy or dry for 10–14 days. This provides pain relief, moisturizes and promotes healing to help retain color.
Moisturize Microbladed Area.
Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area. Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay the healing process. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin.
Microblading Healing Process Day 7-10:
Your brows will have probably flaked off and the color will seem too light. This is because you're viewing the pigment in the top layer of the skin. But just wait because the pigment does come back and we'll explain why when we get there.
Aquaphor Is Your Best Friend
-We suggest Aquaphor because it tends to not cause inflammation, but if you are allergic, Vaseline will do just fine. -Always use a “total sun block” sunscreen until the area has fully healed to prevent future fading of pigment color.
Dry healing is still a common aftercare method even though wet healing has been proven to have the most promising healed results. Make sure to speak with your artist about their healing method. Proper healing is a crucial aspect to your microblading results. Misinformation can result in a poor healing experience.
Aquaphor Healing Ointment
Alternatively, you can use a different healing ointment like Aquaphor. It's important to make sure there are no added antibiotics or harsh ingredients that can break down pigment in your brows.
Proper aftercare is essential for successful microblading results. Most professionals advise avoiding washing your face for 2-10 days post-treatment, with care needed when cleaning around the brows. On Day 1, blot lymph fluid gently to prevent crusting, and use mild antibacterial soap from Day 2-10 for cleaning.
When it comes to microbladed eyebrows, sun exposure needs to be limited as much as possible. In fact, don't be afraid to adopt the way a vampire thinks; the less sun the better. After the microblading healing process is complete, sunblock should always be applied to the microbladed area before being exposed to the sun.
