you need to have a lukewarm, 45 second shower with no soaps/washes (they can strip the tanning actives before they're done working with your skin cells!) but you can lightly rub over your skin to ensure all of the product is removed and the water is running clear off your skin.
BTAN products allow you to achieve a tan that lasts up to 5 days. It is essential to wait at least 4 hours before rinsing the excess of product, while in the following days you can shower and bathe. Avoid the use of exfoliating products if possible.
the longer you keep the tan on, the darker it will get. however, some skin types may experience discoloration (looking a bit orange or yellow) if left on too long past around 8 hours.
It will run if you get it wet within an hour of putting it on, but that's all the time you need to leave it. Then rinse off the residue. It's a gradual tanner, so you can build up to a darker tan if you'd like. It's on par with a spray tan, but much easier to maintain for yourself, and cheaper in the long run.
Wash hands immediately after. Our tanning drops develop over 4-8 hours, there is no need to wash off during this time. Once developed, you can continue to do your skincare routine as normal. Yes, you are able to achieve anything from a subtle glow, to a deep tan depending on how many drops you desire to add.
Your tan will develop fully within 6 to 8 hours and we would recommend avoiding moisture or direct contact with water during this time, in order to prevent the development process being stopped. You can also shower the product off before this point, once you're happy with your colour.
Mix 2-6 drops per body part, blend well and thoroughly apply to skin lightly covering areas such as hands, elbows and feet. Add more drops for even darker skin finish. Wash hands after application. alternatively, add to your self tan foam or lotion to boost its depth of color.
Some self tan products such as gradual lotions can simply be left to sink into your skin without any need to wash them off. With other self-tan products such as foams and mousses you need to rinse the guide colour off to reveal the final tan.
Application is simple. Shake the bottle and apply the mousse on to clean, dry skin. Make sure you rub it in so that you get even coverage all over. Once you're done, leave the tan on to develop for at least one hour before washing it off with water in the shower.
Should I shower after I fake tan? Your fake tan needs time to develop before your next shower, and we recommend waiting for at least four hours but no more than one day.
Baby Oil
Raw oils like coconut, olive, or sunflower will work in a pinch, but be sure to pick up baby oil if you want the best results. When it's time to remove your self-tanner, simply slather your skin with the baby oil and leave it on for a few minutes. Then rinse it off in the shower using a loofah or washcloth.
Regardless of when you wash the colour guide off, we highly recommend you don't moisturise until the 8 hour mark. Why you might ask? Even rinsing your initial colour guide off, the product still continues to develop on your skim, resulting in the most perfect fake tan.
Self-tanners contain DHA (dihydroxyacetone), which reacts with the amino acids in the dead layer of your skin to turn you a temporary bronzed color. The base of many of these tanners is green to prevent your tan from looking too orange.
The general rule of thumb is to wait at least 2 to 3 hours before showering to give your skin cells enough time to complete the tanning process. This waiting time allows your skin to retain its oils and helps lock in your tan, giving you a deeper, longer-lasting color.
no rinse off required. SO EASY TO APPLY: The easiest way to self tan. Pump a small amount of tan gel into hands or a mitt, blend thoroughly & evenly, wash your hands, and you're good to go and glow.
A: It won't come off in the pool water or salt water. It's best to put it on at least 6 hrs after application before bathing or swimming.
Skin Preparation: Shaving isn't just about hair removal; it's a form of exfoliation. By shaving a day before applying self-tanner, you ensure that your skin is smooth and free of any dead cells. This smooth surface allows the self-tanner to go on evenly and helps it adhere better to your skin.
AFTER THE TAN
Shower lightly in cold – lukewarm water for 45 seconds ONLY after your desired development time. Use plain water, don't use shower gels, scrubs, shampoos or loofah during the first 24 hours after your treatment. Pat your skin dry. Do not rub or scrub your skin.
Once you've rinsed and waited a minimum of 8 hours, you can shower as normal. For best results and a longer lasting tan however, we do recommend opting for a wash that is super moisturizing and nourishing for your skin rather than a soap. We also recommend patting yourself dry rather than rubbing.
a little bit goes a long way! we recommend only 1-2 pumps per limb and reallyyy blending it into the skin ensuring you get all over and it's not built up and wet on the skin. then, if you're lighter toned or don't want a super dark tan, only leave on before rinsing for about 3-4 hours max.
Do you have to wash/rinse off tanning drops? Not usually. If it is a clear formula, it will not require rinsing off any instant bronzer, like tanning mousses and lotions. Wash your face/body on your regular schedule after applying tanning drops.
It says you leave on for an hour and rinse. While the other ones you don't rinse off. Typically with any 1 hour self tanner that I've used, I always leave it on longer since I feel an hour doesn't really do too much.
