Lash Damage: Cluster lashes are heavier than individual lashes, which can put extra strain on your natural lashes. If not applied correctly, they can cause your natural lashes to break or fall out. Removal can also be difficult with glue not coming off properly or easily - causing natural lashes to be pulled out.
Your lashes each have individual growth cycles. If you have multiple lashes glued to the same cluster, the lashes that are in active growth will push the cluster out as they grow, and any lashes that are not growing at the same rate will get pulled out.
Clusters are not safe to wear more than one day. It will ruin your natural lashes having a cluster on multiple lashes for that long. All of your lashes are at a different growth rate/stage, so as one lash grows with the cluster, it will pull the other lashes out with it... causing permanent damage, Alopecia, pain, etc.
As cluster lashes are a temporary solution to your lashes, it could be worn for a day or 1-2 weeks. But generally they are not advised for a long-term period.
Cluster lashes, due to their weight, can be heavy on the eyes and are not designed for prolonged wear, typically not beyond a day. Unlike individual extensions, cluster lashes are applied in a manner that may involve direct contact with the skin along the lash line, which can pose several risks.
Cluster Lashes Are Too Heavy
Unlike lash extensions, which are applied to natural lashes individually, clusters are applied to multiple lashes, and more adhesive than normal is needed. The fact that they're so heavy and attached to multiple lashes puts too much strain on your natural lashes.
The misconception that water and lash extensions don't mix is something we've been debunking for a while now. Don't worry: It's okay to take a dip in the pool, soak in the tub and, yes, take a shower, too, when you have lash extensions!
Lash clusters, which are small groups of lashes applied to the natural lash line, are similarly unsuitable for overnight wear. These clusters can become dislodged or twisted during sleep, leading to an uneven appearance and potential discomfort.
As a Lash Technician, it goes without saying that you should never use cluster lashes as an alternative to Classic lashes or Volume lashes on a client who wants a semi permanent beauty treatment like eyelash extensions!
Once the lash adhesive is completely cured, (experts advise keeping the extensions away from water for at least 24 to 48 hours), you can get your eyelash extensions wet without any hassle. The lash adhesive is not water-soluble, so once your lashes are completely cured, you can go about your routine.
As a general rule of thumb, many lash experts recommend taking a break every 6-9 months, especially if you've been wearing extensions continuously. Given that the natural lash growth cycle from start to finish can range from 3 to 4 months, individual lashes are at different stages of this cycle at any given time.

If you want your cluster lashes to last longer, regular maintenance is a must. Clean them after each wear to prevent makeup and oil build-up. Regular cleaning keeps the lash adhesive from hardening on the lash band and helps the lashes maintain their shape and curl.
If worn too long or too often, they can cause permanent lash loss by damaging the follicles. Dr. Armstrong says, “The safest way to wear false eyelashes is in moderation. Most problems occur when you wear them for months and months.”
Cluster lashes typically do not last as long as individual lashes. They are designed for short-term wear and are usually removed after 1 to 3 days.
Micelles are attracted to oil and other substances on the face, pulling them gently out of the skin–this is why they do work so well on makeup, but also do a great job of removing extensions.
Can Vaseline remove eyelash extensions? Yes, it can! Vaseline is made of pure petroleum jelly, which aids in breaking glue molecules in the lash adhesive. Just as suggested with the other natural removers, apply the Vaseline after using steam.
To keep your lash clusters clean and sanitary on the eyes for multi-day use, you must clean them daily.
The key to easily remove your eyelash extensions is softening the glue with oil. Soak a cotton pad in an oil-based makeup remover or natural oils like coconut oil. Press the cotton pad over your lashes for 30-60 seconds to allow the oil to break down the adhesive.
Like the hair on the rest of your body, your eyelashes can fall out. Thankfully, they also grow back. It takes a couple of months for lashes to grow back under normal circumstances. However, your lashes don't typically all fall out at once, so you won't notice that they're in the process of growing back.
