Avoid excessive touching or massaging the treated areas for about 6 hours after the injections. The treated areas can be washed with a gentle cleanser such as Cetaphil® Cerave® or Dove® unscented. Your satisfaction is important to us!
There are no restrictions on showering after getting lip filler injections. Keep your face clean to decrease the risk of infection. But there are a few considerations. Use gentle, unscented skincare products and cleansers.
Immediately after the injections you face will be cleaned. You should not touch your face for 6 hours. After this you may clean your skin with water and a gentle cleanser.
After 24 hours the skin is sealed again naturally at the puncture sites and you can go back to washing your face normally. We are all aware that fillers are hyaluronic acid gels. When injected they take a while to settle in the injected area.
Like many other dermal fillers, it will take at least one to three days for Restylane Lyft to settle into the skin. During that time, you will need to follow specific instructions so you don't disturb the filler.
Avoid touching the treatment area 6 hours after the treatment. After that the area can be gently washed with soap and water and light make-up can be applied. Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (e.g. solarium and sunbathing) or extreme cold.
During the post filler stage (after your injections) the area can be washed gently with soap and water, but do not scrub or exfoliate. Do not apply makeup or any other cosmetic product for at least 2 hours after your treatment.
Will Results Improve Over Time? Absolutely! This injectable gives you improved results over time, unlike many other similar treatments. The active ingredient in Restylane works with the natural regenerative properties of your body, extending the results you'll see after treatment over the course of several weeks.
GENTLY massaging a night cream will not affect the results of Restylane. Some creams may even enhance the results.
Apply Ice – While it's not recommended that patients put much pressure on their injection sites, gently applying ice to the treated areas can help reduce swelling. Avoid Exercising – An increased heart rate will cause your injection sites to swell; therefore, Dr.
Restylane typical has some mild swelling after injection particularly around the eyes and lips. This is due to the product absorbing water and from the “trauma” of the injection. This usually takes 2 weeks to completely settle down.
Some patients like to sleep on their back the first night after treatment, although there is no hard evidence that sleeping position might affect your filler treatment. Avoid sleeping on your face for a week after treatment.
Make sure to sleep on your back with your head elevated using 2 pillows for 3 nights-this will ensure that the newly injected filler stays in place. Another option would be to use a wrap around neck pillow to stabilize your head.
AVOID: Alcohol, caffeine, niacin supplement, high-sodium foods, high sugar foods, refined carbohydrates (you may eat fruit), spicy foods, and cigarettes 24-48 hours after your treatment. AVOID: Vigorous exercise and sun and heat exposure for 3 days after treatment.
Swelling should go down within 2–3 days after your lip filler treatment, and should subside completely within 2 weeks post-treatment. In the meantime, there are some things you should do to help manage swelling and discomfort.
For one to two days after your treatment, regular application of a cold compress can reduce pain, swelling, and bruising that may result from dermal fillers. We recommend that patients rinse a washcloth in ice water or wrap an ice pack with a thin cloth.
Avoid itching, or picking around the injection site. Avoid applying intense heat to the treated area, that includes hot tubs, saunas, sunbathing or tanning. Don't drink alcohol the day of treatment, and try to avoid it for 2 days after. Avoid exercising for 2 days or until swelling subsides.
Dermal filler doesn't 'normally', move after treatment. Immediately after treatment, in certain areas of the face, I do gently massage the area/s that were injected to help mold the product and prevent lumps. It does take about 2 weeks for the filler to settle and integrate into the tissue.
Even as the hyaluronic acid is processed by your body, healthy collagen and elastin grow at a more significant rate. This means you will see initial improvement nearly immediately. They will improve over six to eight weeks.
The filler can take several weeks to soften and settle into your skin. This means that patients won't see the ultimate results of their treatment immediately. Although individual results will vary, many people achieve the full effect within two weeks after receiving their injections.
