There are certain types of blemishes that you shouldn't ever try to pop. They include boils, cystic acne, and pimples deep under the surface of your skin. If you can't see a visible whitehead or blackhead on a pimple, chances are you won't be able to pop it, anyway.
A sebaceous cyst is almost as tempting to pop as a pimple — but hold that thought before you do. Popping a sebaceous cyst at home by yourself could increase your risk for inflammation, infection, and discomfort. In short, this is a cyst your doctor is better off removing.
A person should see a dermatologist if they have inflamed acne, which can include large pimples or painful cysts. They should never try to pop or extract this type of acne, as doing so can cause pain, infection, and permanent skin damage.

Never squeeze a cyst
