As both Juvederm and Restylane are hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, they can safely be used one after the other.
Juvederm® and Restylane® fill the wrinkles in by adding volume to each area they target. The different strategies make them work well together when they are combined. If it is done correctly, using both is a good way to reverse wrinkles at the highest level.
We suggest putting it in a different area of your face from your hyaluronic acid filler(s). For example, let's say you're interested in cheek filler and you recently used Voluma in your chin. It's perfectly fine to use Voluma in your cheeks as well or even layer it with Juvederm Ultra or Ultra Plus.
Answer: Fillers after fillers
Yes, it is usually ok to inject fillers on top of already existing filler products. Best of luck with your injections.
Using Multiple Dermal Fillers at the Same Time
Doing so is commonly referred to as getting a liquid facelift, and is a popular procedure. However, Juvederm and other dermal fillers should not be mixed together, or used simultaneously, on the same facial problem areas during the same dermal filler treatment session.
You should plan for touch-ups every 18-24 months. Are signs of aging impacting your appearance and your confidence? Contact the experts at Beverly Fischer, MD and The Advanced Center for Plastic Surgery today to learn more about dermal fillers and which is best for you.
You will see the final results of your treatment about four to six weeks after your treatment, which is about the time it takes for your body to kickstart collagen production to restore facial volume. This is also because it takes about two weeks for this dermal filler to settle into the hollows of your skin.
Answer: Hyaluronidase is used to dissolve Restylane
Hyaluronidase is an enzme that dissolves Restylane. It can lead to bruising and swelling, but the tissue should return to normal after a few days. Massaging the area where the Restylane has been injected may help move it out of the tissues faster.
Restylane® may last anywhere from six to eighteen months, depending on the formula and the area of the face. Fillers in more mobile areas like the lips have a thin, flexible texture and do not last as long as more dense fillers such as cheek and wrinkle fillers.
Depending on the injection site and amount of dermal filler, most HA fillers last from 6 – 12 months on average. Regardless of which dermal filler you use, two or three syringes are almost always recommended in order to achieve the most gorgeous outcomes.
Answer: Juvederm for lips
IN our practice, the typical amount for upper and lower lips is 1-1.5 syringes. If the lip injection is part of a larger area of treatment around the mouth, then the amount is less in most cases.
One syringe of Juvederm is sometimes sufficient for mild nasolabial folds. For lip augmentation, one syringe will sculpt and enhance the lips. The change will be noticeable but subtle. Two syringes will give a more dramatic size increase and enhancement.
For example, because Juvederm contains more hyaluronic acid, it's a little pricier than Restylane. Yet you may not need as many Juvederm injections to achieve your results, which may end up being better for your wallet.
JUVÉDERM results can last between 1 – 2 years. Restylane is used to treat the same areas of the face as JUVÉDERM. However, it tends to work well to fill in folds or lines around the nose and cheeks, and the eyes. Restylane fillers typically last 6 – 18 months, depending on the target area.
Juvederm Vs Restylane: Longer Lasting
The jury is out on which of these fillers is longer lasting. The effects from both last for several months, but Juvedermhas 35 percent more hyaluronic acid that has been cross linked.
Will Results Improve Over Time? Absolutely! This injectable gives you improved results over time, unlike many other similar treatments. The active ingredient in Restylane works with the natural regenerative properties of your body, extending the results you'll see after treatment over the course of several weeks.
The more relaxed you can keep your face, the longer your results will last. For one thing, repeated facial expressions are the number one cause of dynamic wrinkles; the more often you make an expression, the more likely the skin will remember the way it folds, which leads to the development of lines and wrinkles.
If you stop getting Restylane, after a year, the wrinkles will come back but they may never be as bad as they were before you started treatment since all fillers also cause your body to make new collagen.
I recommend waiting 2 weeks after a filler injection before repeating filler in that same region. The swelling that normally occurs after an injection will usually have subsided by that time to give a more accurate view of whether or not additional filler is needed.
After the 3rd day and before the 7th day post-injection, I recommend massaging any area with a visible bump, excess fullness, or asymmetry, several times a day, until it smooths out. This massage can be performed with a fingertip or the tip of a Q-tip.
The Benefits of Restylane
There are many reasons to love Restylane's line of dermal fillers, including how natural the results look. Also, we love its reliability. It does not spread once it is injected, so you can be confident that we are not volumizing parts of the face that do not need extra volume.
Drink plenty of water. HA based fillers such as Juvederm work by using the water naturally stored in our tissues, by drinking plenty of water after having a dermal filler treatment it helps the filler hold its chaos and last for longer.
During this two week period, the hyaluronic acid in your filler will settle into your dermal tissues and begin to interact with the water in your skin. This process will hydrate your skin and give you a healthy, youthful appearance.
Sun exposure speeds up the aging process on the skin and is one of the leading causes of wrinkles. Those UV rays can also cause certain fillers to break down faster and being absorbed by the body more quickly. To get the best results, use a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 every day.
