When you're in the tanning 'tent' (a one-person pod with an open front) the therapist will usually start by applying the formula, dispersed through a spray gun, to your face. As advised, take a deep breath and close your eyes.
Can You Sit After Spray Tanning? Yes! You just want to be sure there's a piece of clothing between you and any sticky surfaces - including your skin. That's why we recommend wearing long pants and a long shirt until your first shower.

First things first; let's dispel a few myths – a fake tan won't simply come off in the shower. It can't be washed off in the same way as a stain on the skin unless you use a product like Instant Bronzing Gel that has been formulated for short-term wear.
You can shave after tanning without removing all your newfound colour. Just make sure you wait at least 8 hours, so your tan has had time to develop. Then shave with gentle pressure, using a brand-new razor and an oil-free wash or shaving foam that won't break down your faux glow.
If you are on or around the time of your period, this may cause your spray tan to develop lighter than normal - as the spray tan reacts with the pH in your skin and your pH balance is off during this time. If you get sprayed weekly, you are more likely to notice a difference.

Your tan will continue to develop to up to till 8 hours, which you can then wash off with water only (no soaps or sponges etc.) 24 hours after your appointment, you can start using body products, but you need to make sure that you are selecting the correct products for your skin.

Can you self tan or spray tan with hairy legs? The answer is yes! I know it seems like the hair may get in the way, but it doesn't. This is also why I only tell people to remove unwanted hair before any fake tan application.
You can help your pores close quickly by switching your shower to cold for a quick blast of cold magic. Alternatively, if this sounds like your worst nightmare, you could rub something cold from the freezer over your problem areas so less self-tan gets into them.

Look, it's important to keep your skin moisturized to extend the longevity of your spray tan, but some ingredients will actually strip your tan away instead of boosting it. Oils, for example, are a huge culprit. So, as much as you love your coconut oil for head-to-toe moisture, save it as a hair treatment instead.
The good news is that the discoloration is temporary and will fade as your spray tan naturally wears off. In the meantime, you can try gently scrubbing the area with soap and water or using a gentle exfoliating scrub to help speed up the fading process.
