It might be the case that you want to dissolve your existing fillers that look unnatural or that have been causing you issues and want to replace them with new fillers. However, it's recommended that you wait a couple of weeks before doing so.
Answer: Dissolving Juvederm can be done at anytime, but usually wait at least a week after injection. Using hyaluronidase to dissolve Juvederm can be done at anytime. The results of a treatment take about 7-10 days to fully appreciate because Juvederm tends to spread a little.
Hyaluronic acid Dermal filler can be dissolved by the injection of Hyaluronidaese enzyme which take 1-2 weeks to work. There are many reasons that the filler has to be dissolve or has been requested to be dissolved for example: Over filled. The filler has moved or spread to other areas.
The filler will start to break down and soften immediately, although depending on the location and how much needs to be dissolved, it may take up to two weeks for it to completely dissolve and settle back to natural.
In rare cases, facial fillers like Juvederm can migrate to another site of your face within a few days of your injections. This happens when the filler moves before it has fully bonded with your facial tissue.
It is not possible to have your filler and get rid of it, so a compromise has to be sought.It may be that by using such small amounts of the enzyme that there is a minimal effect on the HA filler and you will need a second injection after a week.
So while the body naturally breaks them down over time, there is a way to speed up the process: Injections of hyaluronidase. Hyaluronidase is what the body produces naturally to break down fillers, so by injecting more, it allows the lips to regain natural shape quicker, usually going down within 3-4 days.
While it is largely unreported on in the press and in medical literature, many people suffer from injuries and other problems after having Hyaluronidase injections to dissolve lip filler gone wrong.
Enter: hyaluronidase. Whether it's the lips, under the eyes, in the cheeks, or any of the other areas where HA filler is placed, injecting hyaluronidase can speed up the degradation process and reduce plumpness and/or lumpiness in a matter of days.
The third day after your lip filler appointment is when you'll start to get an idea of what your lips will look like. You should start to feel more comfortable as the swelling should be gone, and it should feel much more normal and comfortable eating and talking.
Lumpiness is very common to feel in your skin in the days after injection of dermal filler into the face, including the upper lip body and the cheeks and the chin area and along wrinkles and folds when injected to lift these. It will usually resolve within a couple of weeks.
How Long Does It Take to Dissolve Lip Fillers? Lip fillers are not permanent. Patients who want their fillers dissolved naturally need to wait between 6 and 12 months. A reverse treatment using a hyaluronidase injection dissolves lip fillers within a few days.
Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm can be dissolved with the hyaluronidase enzyme, which begins to work almost immediately. Many patients experience slight swelling or bruising after these injections, so you may not see most of the settled effect until 2-3 days after injection.
Answer: Dissolve the filler
If you are unhappy with your filler then you should dissolve it. Any deflation of your natural hyaluronic acid will quickly resolve. However, even if you waited for it dissolve on its own it would not stretch out your skin as it is a very small volume.
Another potential side effect to consider: Hyaluronidase could potentially break down too much of the filler, as well as your body's own HA. Consequently, you might lose more volume than you want and notice some unevenness in your lips. Your body will eventually produce more HA, but this can take a few months.
Can all fillers be dissolved? Fillers with silicone (which are sometimes used in the lips and face, cannot be dissolved). Other semi-permanent fillers such as Scultpra and Radiesse also can't be dissolved. But temporary fillers, such as Hyaluronic Acid (HA) fillers can easily be dissolved.
This isn't permanent and can be treated with dissolving all of the filler, refilling the lips again subtly after two weeks and in some cases the use of Botox or skin tightening treatments to tighten up the skin around the mouth again and reduce any remaining fine lines.
Massage can encourage the filler to be broken up by the body more quickly. But in practice this still takes a long time (like weeks of daily vigorous massage) to improve the outcome. This may also spread the product over a larger area causing more problems.
Your body naturally dissolves the dermal filler for you over time using a substance called hyaluronidase. This is a naturally occurring material in your body that gradually breaks down the hyaluronic acid in your filler, causing your results to gradually diminish over a period of 6 – 18 months.
Dermal fillers are instant, so you can see a visible result immediately after injection. It takes up to 4 weeks for the filler to fully integrate into the tissue and some fillers are more cohesive than others.
If the filler is in a location further away from direct blood flow than other locations, then this means that cells that secrete hyaluronidase will not be able to reach the hyaluronic acid gel, and will therefore be unable to dissolve it.
Hyaluronidase should be administered as soon as this complication occurs (within 4 hours). There is strong evidence that tissue necrosis can be prevented or reduced in severity if treatment is administered within 48 hours.
A published journal article states that higher doses [of hy'dase] can lead to damage of native extracellular matrix glycosaminoclycans, leaving a gaunt appearance with poor skin texture (Figure 4). Patients are increasingly presenting with hyaluronidase-related damage, which is often untreatable.
Over time, as facial movement increases in areas like the lips or cheeks, it causes the filler to break down and dissolve at a quicker rate. This makes the filler disappear faster in more active areas of the face.
