Using hair bleach can remove the natural color in your brow by lifting your natural color from your hairs, turning them lighter. The results depend on how long you leave the bleach on and how dark your natural hair color is.
As Gafni explains, when bleaching brows at home, you need a cream bleach that's "designed to be more gentle on facial skin." Most products intended for brow bleaching—like Gafni's fave, Jolen Creme Bleach—have a hydrogen peroxide base. Hairstylists and estheticians can also bleach brows using salon-grade products.
It's damaging.
Your eyebrows are far more delicate than the hair on your head, and one tiny wrong move with bleach can break your brow hairs off at the root. So unless you want to look like an emotionless extra-terrestrial, skip the peroxide.
To bleach your eyebrows, use a cotton swab to apply a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution to them. Leave it on for just a few minutes before wiping it off. Alternatively, make a cup of chamomile tea and add an equal amount of lemon juice to it. Then, apply it to your eyebrows and wipe it off after a few minutes.
First things first: do not use permanent hair dye! Permanent hair dyes are too aggressive for the sensitive skin on your face and could potentially singe your eyebrow hairs right off. Do not use these for your fragile brows.
Leave on for 8 minutes. When the bleaching is done, remove cream with a damp towel. If you have deep brows like my Frankenstein ones, the resulting color will be strawberry blonde. I prefer to go a step lighter, so I wait 5 minutes and reapply.
Use 3% hydrogen peroxide to permanently lighten your brows.
Leave it on your eyebrows for anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes, then wipe off with a wet washcloth. Since hydrogen peroxide is clear, you can watch your brows lightening so you'll know when to wipe it off.

"Yes, benzoyl peroxide can absolutely bleach your brows," says New York City-based dermatologist Dendy Engelman, MD. "Benzoyl peroxide is a bleaching agent. That's one of the effects of most peroxides." Luckily, using benzoyl peroxide on the regular doesn't mean you have to get used to rocking a lighter shade of brows.
She further explains that the tint is made of semi-permanent vegetable dye or henna that is mixed to match your existing shade. This can be done at salons or with at-home kits. “It gives the appearance of thicker, more youthful-looking brows,” adds Tummala.
There's no hard and fast rule when or when you shouldn't dye your eyebrows, but as a general guideline, it would be best if you don't dye your eyebrows for temporary hair colors or hair extensions that you plan to replace after just a week or two, sometimes even a month.
Eyebrow Tint With Coffee
