Thread breakage is a potential side effect. The threads may break due to excess facial movement, rubbing the skin, or exposure to moisture. When it does happen, breakage tends to be near the ends near the incision point.
It is very unlikely for a PDO thread to snap. Sometimes a thread can slip a bit out of place under the skin and sounds and feels frightening to the patient. There are no ramifications to this, other than if the thread slips enough, you will lose some of the lifting benefit.
How can you tell if a PDO thread broke? You may feel the puncture points used to insert the threads for a few weeks as they heal. There may also be a feeling of tightness from the pulling of the skin. In some cases, the threads can migrate or move.
Patients can rest assured knowing that their threads are not only effective for skin tightening but are also incredibly safe. The materials used in these products have been used in medical procedures for many years. As we mentioned, it is unlikely for PDO threads to slip out of place.
PDO Thread Lift Complications do occur and dimpling, puckering and thread visibility are often the most troubling to patients and physicians. These complications can be applied to PDO, PCA and PLLA threads. Most providers choose PDO threads as they are dissolvable, therefore making this problem only temporary.
Complications from threads are pretty hard to un-complicate; things like infections, rippling of the skin, granulomas and threads actually visibly poking out of the skin are all common with a lot of 'fox eye' procedures.
Answer: PDO thread complication management
If a thread is literally sticking through the skin, it should be pulled out. If it a smooth thread it will typically come out easily by grasping the thread and pulling. If it is a barbed thread, it may be difficult to remove.
Although rare, it is not uncommon for a painful lump to develop after a thread lift procedure. This may be caused by the thread buckling or curling under the skin.
Minor complications occur in 15 to 20 percent of procedures but are usually easily corrected. Potential complications include: visible sutures (especially in people with thin skin) pain.
Experiencing slight discomfort in the first two days after the procedure is normal, it will gradually reduce. Try keeping your head elevated for a week. Don't pull your facial skin, massage, scrub or exfoliate the skin for at least three weeks. You are also not supposed to wash or touch your face for at least 12 hours.
How Often Should You Have Treatment? The results of this treatment can last for six to 12 months at a time, so how long the results of your treatment lasts will determine how often you should have treatment. Many patients opt to have regularly scheduled PDO thread lifts once or twice a year.
The symptoms of migration of threads can occur several weeks after the procedure and in general can be caused but the use of threads without cog, incorrect cutting of bi-directional cog threads and breakage of threads. often, patients complain that the threads have moved or that they feel like it is likely to come out.
If the thread has become extruded it may be possible to simply remove it, otherwise you may have to have it surgically removed, possibly through a facelift incision.
A total of five cases of incomplete facial paralysis (2.6%) were reported immediately after thread lifting. In three of the cases, the unilateral eyebrows were weakened, and the temporal branch of the facial nerve was damaged.
You will probably see some initial firming and lifting right after your procedure, with your thread lift face results continuing to take shape over the next three weeks or so. As your body begins to naturally generate collagen, your tightened, lifted outcomes should continue to improve for the next few months.
Answer: PDO ThreadLift Lumps
It can take a few weeks for swelling to go after a thread lift procedure. However, bruising and irregularities in the skin can be side-effects of this treatment, and should resolve with time. If you have any further concerns, I would contact your surgeon.
Puckering is a very common side effect that lasts up to 2 days or 2 weeks after the procedure as PDO threads will dissolve into the skin after it's stitched in.
AVOID TOUCHING/PRESSURE/MASSAGE: Please avoid touching the area for 24 hours. Try to avoid direct pressure on your face such as sleeping “face down” for 1 week. No massage or treatment to the area for 1 month.
A crash in a thread takes down the whole process. And you probably wouldn't want it any other way since a crash signal (like SIGSEGV, SIGBUS, SIGABRT) means that you lost control over the behavior of the process and anything could have happened to its memory.
Thread creation puts a load on the system in terms of memory and CPU resources. We need to do exception handling inside the worker method as any unhandled exceptions can result in the program crashing.
Longevity: Facelift Vs Thread Lift
The results of a facelift last far longer than those of a thread lift. In fact, a facelift can provide some level of improvement to skin quality for a full decade! A thread lift will probably need redoing after only 18 months at the most. In some cases, they can last less than a year.
Can a Thread Lift Be Reversed? If you're experiencing problems with your thread lift procedure or do not like the cosmetic results overall, they can be reversed using minor surgical procedure. This is dependent upon the type and shape of thread used.
